Expecting a girl very soon and cannot decide on her name. Big sister is [name_u]Florence[/name_u] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
So far we like:
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Ada[/name_f] or Lina)
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] (He-leh-na, nn Lena)
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] (nn Milly) and
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (nn Dot)
Wanting not too common, but easy to spell and pronounce with similar vintage/floral edge to match her sister.
I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]! Would be lovely with sister [name_u]Florence[/name_u] too
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] & [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] also came to mind
Matilda is one of my favourite names and it’s lovely with Florence. I can’t say I love the nickname Milly, mainly because it doesn’t indicate what the longer name is the way Tilly does and could be used for multiple other names like Camilla, Amelia etc, but that’s a minor quibble and just down to personal taste. Adeline is also lovely, as is Ada on its own.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] would make a lovely middle. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] gives me the same vibe as [name_u]Florence[/name_u]. I’m thinking about something like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Ada[/name_f].
My favourite from your options is Helena, though I’d use Nell as pet form.
I’ve always mentally paired Florence with Beatrice, and Ivy with Iris. So by that logic my suggestion would be Beatrice Iris, though the same ending sounds are not ideal.
Other possible middles which stick with your floral theme are Ione and Ianthe, both of which mean violet.
I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] nn [name_f]Dot[/name_f]! Such a beautiful name and Dot/Dottie is perfect. It definitely has the most vintage/floral feel to it out of your options
Love Florence Ivy!! I’d name Florence’s little sister…
Scarlett (for some reason I just adore this with Florence! It sounds so lovely!!)
Hazel
Harriet / Hattie
Annabel / Annie or Belle
Rose
Elizabeth / Eliza
Josephine / Jo
Penelope / Poppy or Pippi
May
Maeve
Alice
Adelaide / Ada
Hmmm I think [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Yarrow[/name_u] or [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Misty[/name_f] might work for you. I like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] as well
I think [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Cyprus[/name_u] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] would work as well.
Other first names I suggest:
[name_u]Shannon[/name_u] [name_f]Cascade[/name_f]
[name_f]Margareta[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f]
[name_f]Glenda[/name_f] [name_f]Pearly[/name_f]
Florence & Helena are heavenly together such a wonderful sibling set. I love the idea of Helena Daisy. I think a flower middle name would be so sweet. Also Nell is a sweet nickname and works with the Florence nicknames if her name is shortened.
You’ve had a few suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] but I LOVE all the options you guys have ! I think my favourite is [name_f]Helena[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] !
[name_u]Florence[/name_u] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] sound like sisters to me, and a really lovely pairing at that! [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is sweet but seems informal next to [name_u]Florence[/name_u], and whilst I love [name_f]Helena[/name_f], I think you’ll constantly be correcting between the two pronunciations.
