I don’t have any children yet (nor am I anywhere near married, so can’t discuss names with any guy!), but I love names! I am dead-set on naming my first son [name]Henry[/name] Albus ([name]Henry[/name] from The Time [name]Traveler[/name]'s Wife, Albus from [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] =] ) but whenever I have a daughter, I’m at a loss! I can’t seem to find a name that stands up to [name]Henry[/name].
I’d really like to stick with having literary names, including one from [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]. The only girl’s name I love as much as [name]Henry[/name] is [name]Emma[/name], but I named a character in my books that so I don’t think I can bring myself to name a daughter [name]Emma[/name].
I’m not so affected by a name’s popularity unless I know too many personally (but [name]Isabella[/name] is out!), and I prefer shorter names that are classic(and literary). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance =)
Our nameberry friend has a [name]Henry[/name], a [name]Dorothy[/name], and will have twins of [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] soon, they are all brilliant with [name]Henry[/name].

If [name]Gladys[/name] ever comes back in style, and I think it will sooner than we could imagine:
then [name]Gladys[/name] would be cute. Only use it if you live in the coolest part of Manhattan and you are super hip. Then MAYBE you could pull it off. But I doubt it. Definitely in five years or ten years.
Favorites–
[name]Henry[/name] & [name]Lucy[/name] (I love [name]Narnia[/name]!)
[name]Henry[/name] & [name]Rosalie[/name]/[name]Rose[/name]
I also love [name]Claire[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], & [name]Cordelia[/name] (though I couldn’t bring myself to use it…).
And while I love the sound of [name]Gladys[/name], [name]Susan[/name]…It’s not a name I could pull off! =P
I understand why you don’t want to use [name]Gladys[/name]. I wouldn’t want to use it either. But I think is will be super hip one of these years.[/quote]
this is making me lol, I have loved [name]Gladys[/name] for years but everyone screams at me ([name]IRL[/name]) when I mention it as a baby name. Sigh, maybe some day!
I’m not that much a fan of two names ending in the same sound, but [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] are very cute together! You could do [name]Henry[/name] Albus and [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Minerva[/name] ([name]Minerva[/name] McGonagall)…
