We have two daughters right now. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is 3 and [name_u]Presley[/name_u] is 18 months. We are not pregnant nor TTC right now but do plan on a third in the near future.
[name_f]My[/name_f] question is if we do end up having another girl do we have to use another -ley name?
If not, what are some suggestions of other names that would compliment their names well.
I wouldn’t feel obligated to use another -ley name…in fact, it could get pretty confusing!
With [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. & [name_u]Presley[/name_u] I 'd stick with unisex or surname names though:
I love [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] and [name_u]Presley[/name_u]! They have been gps of mine for a loongg time.
I would:
Try to keep the “ley” ending, but if it doesn’t work out, no sweat.
Definitely keep the unisex thing going, and make sure it doesn’t start with H or P.
Sisters [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] and [name_u]Presley[/name_u] are AWESOME, so kudos for choosing awesome names! With your girls, I would try to use other -ley names, but I wouldn’t want to be confined to only using names that end in -ley. Suggestions…
Thank you so much to everyone for your suggestions and thoughts.
I happen to love a lot of -ley names so if we did have another girl down the road it wouldn’t be a burden to use one…there are many names I like that don’t end that way and I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t be weird if I used one. Some of them are used more often for boys is the only thing…If I used one I would worry that people think we wanted a boy.
Many of you suggested names that are already on my list.
If you plan on having other children, I would advise you to break the “ley” pattern with this third child. Two girls in the same household ending in “ley” is doable but it might get awfully confusing (and somewhat cheesy) with three or more.
