Trying to find a name that goes well with my son’s. Also trying to think of names similar to [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] as friends have both taken these names. Particularly gutted to lose [name_f]Esme[/name_f]!
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful! A really stunning name. [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] is also gorgeous.
I really like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] too.
Other options -
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Jemima[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] (This I like as it means you can use [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] as nn, but not directly through same name as your friends baby)
Thanks missnomer. I’m liking the names in your signature a lot. I do like [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] but worried about the duplication of J with [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. Also it’s funny you have put [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] as I have a proper block being able to say that name.
I personally love the name [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] and it’s rising in popularity, but every time I see it now I think back to a story I read about a mom with serious name regret because the whole family kept pronouncing it “Oddly”. Something to think about!
That aside, I love the name [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] would also be a beautiful pairing. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is my favorite of the pairings you have listed
Some other suggestions:
[name_f]Eleni[/name_f] (pronounced “[name_f]Elle[/name_f]-any” or “ell-EN-ee” - it’s the Greek pronuncation for [name_f]Helen[/name_f]) *We are using this as a middle name for our second if it’s a girl after my grandmothers , so I’m a little biased
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] (agreeing with PP)
[name_f]Nathalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u] or [name_m]Jos[/name_m]), sounds great with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] as a middle
[name_f]Roslyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
Yes [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are good together. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] quite popular here in the uk which is my only worry.
I like [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] from your list. I think any of those would be nice. Also like the suggestion of [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f].
Other names with a similar vibe to [name_f]Esme[/name_f] for me…
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]/[name_f]Edie[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
You could try alternative spelling with [name_f]Mathilde[/name_f], still pronounced the same or with a hard stop on the e instead of ending with a. There’s also [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], both with may spelling variations for preference, if you want something similar without being as popular (unless it is popular in the UK right now).
I’m glad you like the name [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], as well Maybe we’ll see a little popularity spike if it gets enough attention though I’m certain it will never make the top 1000 in English speaking countries.
