[name_m]Hi[/name_m], a family member of mine is having another daughter! She has been asking for name suggestions and i do not have anything. She want the same typ of name as her other daughters: [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] “[name_f]Lizzy[/name_f]” & [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] “[name_u]Lexie[/name_u]”, a “full” name with a nn starting on L that makes some sense. Names on her list:
[name_f]Leonore[/name_f] or [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] - [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] - [name_u]Laine[/name_u]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] - [name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] - [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
Ashlyn - Lynnie
[name_f]Happy[/name_f] for toughts and new suggestions!
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] are very classic and feminine, so [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] and [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] stick out like a sore thumb to me. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] takes it into more “modern popular” territory- they’re all classic names that are popular right now/have been in recent years… while [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] would make the sibset feel more vintage- classic names that feel a bit more old-fashioned, 19th/early 20th century.
[name_f]Leonore[/name_f]/[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] are beautiful but feel a lot more unusual, and [name_u]Lee[/name_u] doesn’t quite fit the nickname pattern! Though [name_f]LeeLee[/name_f]/[name_f]Lili[/name_f] or [name_f]Leni[/name_f] would.
My personal favourite of the list is [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], I love how delicate and elegant it feels, and that [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (or [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]?) follows the nickname pattern established with the first two girls.
More suggestions:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - Liddy ([name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] and Liddy together remind me of Pride and Prejudice, which I think is awesome but maybe too obvious for your friend)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], etc. - [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], etc. - [name_f]Lili[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], etc. - [name_f]Lani[/name_f]
[name_f]Eulalie[/name_f], [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] - Lalie
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] - Lynny
If it doesn’t have to be two syllables/end in the “ee” sound:
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f], any [name_f]Lu[/name_f]- name - [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Lorena[/name_f], [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f], etc. - [name_f]Lola[/name_f] or [name_f]Lolo[/name_f]
And, I know it makes no sense whatsoever, but when I read the title of the post with the names of sisters [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] and [name_u]Lexi[/name_u], the first name that popped into my head was [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! I know It’s not the same style as [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] but for some reason [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f], [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] sounded adorable to me.
I think [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] work best with her sibs: [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f], [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] and [name_f]Livvy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f].
[name_f]Leonore[/name_f]/a is ok but “[name_u]Lee[/name_u]” isn’t and it doesn’t go well with [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] & [name_u]Lexie[/name_u].
[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] is already a nn to me.
[name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] is completely out. It does not pair well with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].
[COLOR="#800080"]I tried to go with more classic and longer names to fit with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] ([name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] and [name_u]Lexie[/name_u]).[/COLOR]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] are also four syllable names with “L” nicknames.
I also started my list with nicknames that will end in an “ee” sound as [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] and [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] do.
