Big sister is [name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] (pronounce [name_f]Mare[/name_f]-in). Last name is Carr. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] sister is due in [name_f]September[/name_f] and we need naming help.
We would like another girl’s name that is clearly feminine without being frilly.
Husband likes common names of girls our age (born in 80’s) [name_f]Michelle[/name_f], [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], [name_f]Brandy[/name_f], [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
I like vintage names: [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
Together, we only agree on [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but I feel it’s harsh sounding with our last name ([name_f]Kate[/name_f] Carr). Not a fan of [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] or [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]. Husband like [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], but it’s not my fav. (Another fave of us both is [name_f]Elise[/name_f], but with our last name be both hear “A Lease Car”)
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. [name_f]Maren[/name_f] & [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] would be so cute together! I like the sound of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] Carr too. I know someone who is FIRST NAME [name_f]Kate[/name_f] Cr____, so I am used to the sound.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! [name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] is very pretty.
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] Carr is pretty and simple.
Here are some others:
[name_f]Helen[/name_f] Carr. [name_f]Helen[/name_f] is strong, simple and vintage. It has a positive meaning. It’s pretty much a love/hate name, though… people seem to have strong feelings on it. Not sure how you and your partner will feel about it.
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] Carr. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is a tad more lively in feel, compared to [name_f]Elena[/name_f] or [name_f]Helen[/name_f]. Does it work for you, or does it sound too much like ‘hazel car?’
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] Carr. This sounds, well, graceful.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] Carr. I think this is super lovely, although it is a more popular choice.
[name_f]Amity[/name_f] Carr. This is one of my favorite names, and it works well with your last name.
[name_f]Thisbe[/name_f] Carr. Quite unusual and a little funky. Another one of my personal favorites.
[name_f]Carys[/name_f] Carr. I knew a girl with this name at my summer camp. She was sweet and spirited and it suited her quite well.
[name_f]Raisa[/name_f] Carr. I have a casual friend with this name. It means “rose.”
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] Carr. This name has been growing on me lately. I think it’s a vintage gem.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] Carr. Quite vintage-y without being obsolete.
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] would be lovely with a sister named [name_f]Maren[/name_f], but it’s repetive with Carr. I also like [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] with [name_f]Maren[/name_f]. I second the suggestions of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].
Thank you so much to all that have taken the time to reply. I truly appreciate your time. Unfortunately, my husband quickly vetoed all the names. The only name he liked from all suggested was [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - however we have a close friend that I talk to daily and see at least weekly named [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], so that name is out for us.
I liked many of the names, especially [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], and [name_f]Elena[/name_f].
Please, keep suggestions coming and I’ll keep running them by my husband.
