Opinions please on names that go well with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. We really love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] but not sure with using the same initials. Is it too matchy?! Open to any suggestions!

I donāt think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] are too similar, especially if you use the nickname [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], which doesnāt sound like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] at all.
If you find they are too similar for your taste, maybe consider:

Also I realise [name_f]Iris[/name_f] doesnāt go with some of the names I like above! But it isnāt set in stone itās a family name we are considering.
Matching initials are not a problem! [name_f]My[/name_f] brother and I share initials and I have never thought badly of that - in fact, itās a nice extra connection we have and my mum used to joke about how it made naming easier. Go for the name you love and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is GORGEOUS.

A family friend recently named his daughter [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and I thought it was lovely. I do think [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are a bit matchy and could be restricting if you were to have future children however if you love it go for it.

I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] would be super cute together! They are only slightly matchy to me (itās hardly a [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_u]Mack[/name_u] situation), and I think the subtle connection is very sweet. I also like that they both have a vintage vibe.
Matilda Jane is lovely! I like Mabel and think it goes well with Matilda, although I personally have an issue with repeated initials. Thatās just me though and itās certainly not a big deal. Some other ideas:

Thanks everyone some really great suggestions! I really like lots of them so have got a short list now but I think hubby is set on [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]! I do still love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and Iām glad everyone thinks it would go with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], the few people I have told so far didnāt like the matching initials but I donāt mind it as they donāt sound similar so Iām still swaying towards that too. Matilda [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is so cute. I really like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] too. I wouldnāt personally prefer to repeat initials. However, if [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is the only name that you absolutely love I also wouldnāt let the repeating initials thing be a deal breaker. [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] & [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] & [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] go really well together style wise, & arenāt too match-y sounding.
