Sister for Noah

I have a son named [name]Noah[/name]. Does [name]Isla[/name] sound too much like [name]Noah[/name] to be used for his sister? We are having her [name]Tuesday[/name] and still have not finalized her name. All I am sure of is that her middle name is [name]Ruth[/name]. I am starting to panick that she doesn’t have a name.

It’s a little matchy for my personal taste but I don’t think it’s unusable. It sounds fine if you love the name. If I have a son he will most likely be [name]Noah[/name] and my favorites with this are [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Piper[/name]

I agree: if it’s your favorite name, go ahead and use it confidently. I do find the two fairly similar, though, since both are two-syllable, vowel-heavy names with one light consonant sound and ending in -a. I don’t think that has to break the decision if you love the name, though.

I don’t think so. The fact that they’re spelled so very differently helps separate them. The starting sound is quite different so it’s not like when you call [name]Noah[/name], [name]Isla[/name] will come running…

My cousin’s favourite names are [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Isla[/name], and I think they are gorgeous together.

I think you can be quite comfortable calling your little girl [name]Isla[/name]! I think [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] are perfect together! [name]Don[/name]'t fret over it at all. [name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] is a beautiful name!

I think [name]Isla[/name] is a great choice to go with big brother [name]Noah[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are wonderful names. They have similar endings but the rest of the name isn’t ‘matchy’ so I think it works. Congratulations to you! =]
