Sister for Otto: Yolanda, Saskia or Annika

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] friends

I’m working with a few options for a baby girl name to work with big brother [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m]. Middle name [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] is a family name that I don’t otherwise love, so that’s not indicative of my style.

[name_m]Little[/name_m] girl’s middle name will probably be [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] (a family name that I’d use for a first name if my partner liked it!). I like that it sits nicely with [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] in length and sound.

I love Dutch, Scandinavian and some [name_m]German[/name_m] names. My heritage is [name_m]German[/name_m], and my partner’s is [name_m]French[/name_m].

So far my favourites are:

[name_f]Yolanda[/name_f]
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f]

And others i quite like include:

[name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
[name_f]Anja[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
Romily
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]
Iska

I love when names have lots of variants, short and long and nicknames — I think it’s fun for children to be able to put their own spin on their name.

Would be excited to hear which you prefer between [name_f]Yolanda[/name_f], [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and [name_f]Annika[/name_f], and any other great suggestions!

I love [name_f]Annika[/name_f]!

I love [name_f]Annika[/name_f] the most of the three, but I really like the sound of [name_m]Otto[/name_m] & [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]! I also think [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] perhaps flows a bit better than [name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f].

I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] and [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] go beautifully together. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_f]Annika[/name_f] sound a little similar for my liking.

Honestly I like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] together best but if that’s off the table then I like [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] or [name_f]Annika[/name_f] best with [name_m]Otto[/name_m]

I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] & [name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are my favourites…

I think [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] works beautifully with [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and you could always play with the nickname '[name_u]Frankie[/name_u].

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]…

[name_f]Inga[/name_f]
[name_f]Ilka[/name_f]/[name_f]Elke[/name_f]
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]

[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] goes wonderfully with [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m]! I love the potential nn [name_u]Sky[/name_u] too; [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_u]Sky[/name_u] are so sweet together!

Saskia is my favourite!

I prefer Saskia. To me it sounds sophisticated and I like its connection to art history. It sounds beautiful with Otto. I like Annika too.

I really love Annika and Saskia! Both would make a perfect sister for Otto – they share that funky, slightly spiky, but also classic vibe.

Others that fit in that category to me are:

Greta
Frida
Sunniva
Iskra
Eliska
Viveca/Vivika
Astrid
Ingrid
Katya
Tove
Lovisa
Ramona

But Saskia would have to be my favourite, such a gorgeous name :purple_heart:

I think Otto Raymond and Annika Ingrid would make a fabulous set of siblings! I also think you could probably get away with using Anouk/Anja as a nickname if you really wanted, which is always a plus.

Ha @katinka, your description of funky / spiky is so perfect. These are great suggestions, thank you!

You’re welcome

I favour funky/spiky myself (I actually have a little Anouk, and I would have had a Saskia too if it wasn’t my husband’s cousin’s name!)

Good luck choosing. Otto is such a fun name to pair with!

My favorite name is Saskia, but Annika is perfect for Otto’s little sister. With the middle name Ingrid, I adore Saskia Ingrid, Anja Ingrid and Francesca Ingrid. I would go with Saskia Ingrid
