Sister for Piper and Quinn

We have two little girls, Piper and Quinn, and are working on settling on a name for baby sister. These are our favorites right now. What do you think sounds best with the sisters’ names?

  • Piper, Quinn, and Indie
  • Piper, Quinn, and Violet

I love Ivy!! I also like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as well. [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is beautiful too, but I like that [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would give each girl a different sounding ending to their name.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought reading the title was “something ending in a long E… Holly” so [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] for sure gets my vote.

[name_u]Piper[/name_u] + [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] are so perfect together! Honestly, I think all of your options for #3 would work beautifully- which I realize is not super helpful  So here are some more detailed thoughts!

[name_u]Indie[/name_u]- separate from big sisters’ names, this is my favorite from your list. It feels sweet yet adventurous + whimsical but grounded. And style-wise, I think it fits great with [name_u]Piper[/name_u] + [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. All three feel gender neutral in theory but are used more for girls; all three share the same modern-yet-established feel. [name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation is the prominent repeated “in” sound between [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] + [name_u]Indie[/name_u]. I can’t decide whether it’s really an issue or how much it actually bothers me, but it gives me just a bit of pause.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f]- for a long time, I couldn’t get past the sound similarity between [name_f]Violet[/name_f] + violent, which pretty much ruined the name for me. Recently something started to click + I really do see the appeal now: she’s charmingly vintage but completely current, light + floral but spunky + strong. And even though she feels a little less modern than big sisters’ names, I somehow feel like she rounds out the trio nicely. I like that she brings a slightly distinct style flavor into the group without being jarringly different, + that she’d give you a fresh ending sound!

[name_u]Eden[/name_u]- in terms of style/vibe, this feels like possibly the most perfect match for [name_u]Piper[/name_u] + [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] from your list. And I like Eden’s bright vowel sounds, gentle strength, + spring-like feel. But I don’t feel as excited about it as I do some of your other options, + I don’t love that it repeats Quinn’s “n” ending. I wonder if you might consider [name_f]Edie[/name_f]- which pulls in some of Violet’s vintage charm (while still feeling fresh + current) and some of Indie’s/Ivy’s sound?

[name_u]Ivy[/name_u]- second to [name_u]Eden[/name_u] this feels like your closest style match for [name_u]Piper[/name_u] + Quinn; + along with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] this is probably my favorite with your older girls’ names sound-wise. But independently, I’m not as excited about it as I would be [name_u]Indie[/name_u] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. Still, [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] is sweet + spunky + simple but interesting, a solid choice all around.

Overall, I think either [name_u]Indie[/name_u] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would be my top pick for you- [name_u]Indie[/name_u] gets my vote independently, but I might slightly prefer [name_f]Violet[/name_f] with [name_u]Piper[/name_u] + [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. And if you’d consider [name_f]Edie[/name_f], that might become my favorite- echoing Indie’s sound except the part that overlaps with [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], + sharing some of Violet’s vintage-yet-current flair.
