Our second daughter is due [name_f]September[/name_f] 10 and needs a name! Our first’s name is [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], a family name. Last name is 2 syllables starting with P.
DH and I both like:
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Shoshana[/name_f]
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
I would also like to use a form of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] to honor my grandmother, or [name_f]Sue[/name_f] for his grandmother, as a first or middle name.
I would love some thoughts on these names and other suggestions. Thank you!
From your list, I think [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] would be the best option ([name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f]). [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] would be my second choice. I would also like to suggest [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Sela[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Maia[/name_f]/[name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite name out of your choice, would be [name_f]Lilah[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] sounds really sweet!
I’m not sure [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Shoshana[/name_f] go with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. Maybe [name_f]Tara[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f] or [name_f]Talia[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f]? Might be cute to use [name_f]Ginger[/name_f] or [name_f]Saffron[/name_f] or [name_f]Opal[/name_f].
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] are prettier and more modern sounding but still old fashioned versions of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and [name_f]Sue[/name_f].
I really like [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] from your list. The others are unique but not favorites of mine and I’m not sure that they would sound great with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] but then again [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] actually works well together I think and I guess sounds good with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
Other names:
[name_f]Jade[/name_f]- I think [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Jade[/name_f] are good sibling names
[name_f]Amber[/name_f]-also think it sounds like a good sibling for [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]-I don’t know, I think it sounds nice
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]-I like it more than [name_f]Sabine[/name_f], which could be a nickname option
from yours I think [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f] is nice and I also like [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Susie[/name_f]!
Could I also suggest:
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f]
[name_f]Layla[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Beverly[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Vada[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Shannen[/name_u]
[name_f]Heather[/name_f]
[name_f]Moira[/name_f]
[name_f]Winona[/name_f]
I love the name [name_f]Helena[/name_f], and could really see it working with a [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] vintage but with a little kick.
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Susan[/name_f] could work.
Good luck! I hope I helped & please let us know what you choose!
You could use [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as a nod to [name_f]Helen[/name_f]. I think something vintage and quirky would work best with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], not quite the style you have on your list.
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
From your list, I definitely agree that [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] is the best with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f], [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f], [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Suellen[/name_f] (if you wanted to use both names!) all work well. There are also lots of possibilities if you use a variant of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] with [name_f]Sue[/name_f] too-- [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f], [name_f]Elinor[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f], [name_f]Lana[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f], etc. I do think some more vintage names would work better with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
I like [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_u]Jean[/name_u] with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
