So in a book idea I’ve got, set in the 1930s [name_f]England[/name_f], there are these two sisters who are amazingly talented at very different things. Basically, it’s a coming of age story, so after their nurse, who has looked after them their whole lives, dies, they get adopted by a family who are really arty- [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], the mother, is a painter, [name_u]Laurie[/name_u], the father, is a writer, and they have a son, [name_m]Hector[/name_m].
So these two girls- one is called [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f], and she ends up becoming a writer, and the other I would like to be an actress. The first line is:They were not suitable names, said [name_f]Mollie[/name_f] afterwards. Not for children who lived in Bloomsbury.
So obviously, from this first line, they have to have pretty out there names. I’m not particularly worried about historical accuracy, because it’s pretty loosely based, and almost timeless in a way. Think Ballet Shoes for the kind of tone I’m going for…
So yes, help naming the younger sister!
