Hi, I am expecting baby girl 3 in July. My first daughter is named Tamra Lynn, after my mom Tammy Lynn. My second daughter is named Tessa Maria, after my mother in law Maria Teresa.
My dilemmas: 1- I like family names and am now out of options. 2 - I named my first two T names so now I am confused if I should name my third girl a T name. I am not sold on it having to be a T name.
The 2 front runners I have are Taylor Grace and Tinsley Grace.
Taylor: I worry it is too basic and too unisex considering my other two daughters names.
Tinsley: I have read a lot of negative feed back on this name…. Most people hate it. I feel like it is more unique and girly though which might go better with Tamra and Tessa?
Other names I like that aren’t T names but my husband does not like are: Claire, Brooke, Paige, Lainie, Bridget.
Thoughts on Taylor vs Tinsley? Any additional suggestions?
All your suggestions sound great with your girls names. I think the baby would feel more left out by not having a family name then a T name. I’d do [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Yourfirstname or [name_f]Lainie[/name_f] Yourmaidenname
I love that you used family names! Are you sure there’s no one else you want to honor with a name? I’d lean toward an honor name over a T name if you can’t have both.
That being said, [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is wonderful with her sisters. I much prefer it to [name_f]Tinley[/name_f] and like that each name has a distinct feel.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], my maiden name is horrendous! Haha
I would love to name my baby after myself but we are big in calling our girls by their first and middle name and I don’t feel like [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] comes across great as a middle…. [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Kristen… would be fine if I didn’t routinely use both first and middle together. I really like the first and middle to flow.
I agree, I am so sad I can’t come up with another family name for baby 3…. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandmothers names were [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u] and [name_m]Glynne[/name_m] [name_u]Earl[/name_u]. I was considering middle name [name_u]Jo[/name_u] but my husband does not like it at all. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband was not close with his grandmothers and honestly doesn’t even know their names
I personally love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] with [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] & [name_f]Tamra[/name_f]!
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Tinsley[/name_f] would be nice! [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would honour both your grandmothers. I don’t think you need to stick with the theme.
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u] is sweet! After [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] [name_m]Swift[/name_m] it feels all girl to me.
What about [name_u]Kay[/name_u] as a middle name to link to you? [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is lovely for flow though.
You could do [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] with [name_f]Mary[/name_f] being sort of a combo of [name_u]Maria[/name_u] and [name_f]Tammy[/name_f].
Anyway, [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is great! [name_f]Tinsley[/name_f] is cute too.
What about [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] in the middle, after Grandma [name_m]Glynne[/name_m] [name_u]Earl[/name_u]. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is beautiful, or [name_f]Krissy[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] after you.
I like your T theme but don’t think it’s necessary to continue if you’re not loving the T options…. Also [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is the perfect middle… it honors both grandmas AND you !! I’d feel more left out if I was only sibling without a family honor name than a matching initial.
With Tessa Maria and Tamra Lynn I voted for Tinsley Grace! Tinsley is super cute and matches the vibe you’ve got going on perfectly. These other T names might make a good sibset with Tessa & Tamra as well:
Tina
Tabitha aka Tabby
Tanith
Terra
Tilden
Tulia

Theda
Talia / Tahlia
Thalie

I like Taylor the best of your main contenders It used to be a lot more gender neutral, but Taylor for a boy is so rare anymore than most people assume that a Taylor will be a girl from what I understand. With the name Tinsley, I have a hard time picturing an adult with that name. I think it sounds really cute on a little girl, but I find it hard to grow with the child. But if you feel differently, that is totally up to you!
I think you’ve had a lot of other great T names suggested as well, especially Talia and Tilda really seem to fit your other daughters’ names I know a Tavia (tau-vee-a; rhymes with Talia) and her sister is a Tasha (tau-sha; like in Natasha). Those seem cute with your set as well
If you don’t chose to continue T theme, I don’t think your 3rd child would be upset. In fact, she may even feel special that she has her own initial! I think if you already had 3 kids that started with T, then had a 4th that didn’t, it could be worse. But I don’t think two T’s and another initial would be problematic at all if you can’t find a T name you love
Adding that I love this suggestion! Evelyn is a great middle name, whether you choose a T name or go another route, especially because you can honor so many people with it.
Not using T names:
[name_f]Edna[/name_f]
[name_u]Alba[/name_u]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Anita[/name_f] (I LOVE this with your girls names!)
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
I love both [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] and [name_f]Tinsley[/name_f]! I don’t think you could go wrong either way. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a beautiful middle name. You might consider your Mom or Mother in law’s maiden name, if you think you need a family name. I think [name_m]Glynne[/name_m] is a very pretty name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the spelling. You could also consider your dad or father in laws name as a middle.
