It’s a fun, pleasing pairing! I’m not sure who makes the rules about “matchiness”, but I don’t think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] are so different that they couldn’t be sisters. Esmereldina and [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] as sisters I might question, but there’s a lot of room to play before you reach that large a style gap.

Sorry, but [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] is terrible with the divinely beautiful [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about using it I. The middle.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]

I don’t think it’s necessarily too short to go with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], but it does feel generally mismatched to me. I don’t like for names to “match” exactly, but these feel really odd together to me (though probably if I met sisters named [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] I wouldn’t dwell on it too long). Sorry!

I don’t think it’s too short with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], but it is a bit shocking to see a unisex name next to what I feel is a very feminine name. I don’t see that as the big issue though. [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] is a pretty drastic change in style compared to [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. Sibling names don’t all have to match in style, but I think they should at least complement each other and these two just don’t.

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is a beautiful feminine name and to me, [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] looks the opposite, not fitting well at all with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] is a fine name but I would keep it for a possible son.

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] are quite different, but the more I say them, the more I like them together! They are both fun names, though in different ways; [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is kind of frilly fun, while [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] is more ruggedly or nature-y fun. I totally love [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] and [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] together though! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you call [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] “[name_f]Vivi[/name_f]” often? I think [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] and [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] are just sweet together.

I happen to like both [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. I think [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] is like a modern version of [name_f]Holly[/name_f]. It may have a different vibe, but sibling sets names do not Have to have the same vibe. After all, they are two different people.
[name_u]Hollis[/name_u] is pretty, and if you like it, then by all means, use it. It’s not like it clashes with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. I personally might give a female [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] an obviously feminine middle.

For me, it’s about fairness. I love [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] but I wouldn’t use it if I had a child with such an elaborate name as [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. [name_m]Will[/name_m] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] feel slighted that her name pales in comparison to her sister’s? If you were named [name_u]Jo[/name_u] and your siblings were [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Evangelina[/name_f], and [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m], wouldn’t you wonder why your name is so different?

I guess I don’t read [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] as frilly or feminine. Female, but not over the top. The only people I’ve known named [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] have also been female, so while technically unisex, it definitely reads girl to me. The first [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] I ever met was a tall, intelligent, striking woman who would be about 70 by now, so these two names just don’t clash to me. The OP didn’t say whether she plans to use/not use [name_f]Holly[/name_f] as a nickname, but I think sisters [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] and [name_f]Holly[/name_f]/[name_u]Hollis[/name_u] would be lovely.

I agree with @nathalia, for me [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] isn’t really that elaborate/frilly, particularly with [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] as a nickname. I think the names are different but not so much that I think it matters. If your first child was [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]/Evanegline/[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] I might have more of an issue with it. I think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] sound nice together!

I like it! They sound like a fun pair!
