(Please don’t diss the name. I’ve had enough of that. Haha)
As you can tell; I’m fond of old-fashioned, less popular names.
I need a name that goes with [name_f]Olga[/name_f], but preferably doesn’t also end in A. The closest I’ve come to a name I like is ‘[name_f]Edie[/name_f]’ and ‘[name_f]Trudy[/name_f]’, but those are diminutive and I’d prefer a stand-alone name.
I’d love any suggestions. Thank you. <3
(Edit: I’m also in LOVE with ‘Marnie’, but I’ve been told it doesn’t fit. Thoughts?)
I love [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] and prefer it over any of the names I listed actually. I do think it’s odd with [name_f]Olga[/name_f], but I would always choose a name I love over a name that “fits.”
Olga and…
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Edie[/name_f]’
[name_f]Gertrude[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Trudy[/name_f]’
[name_f]Ethel[/name_f]
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f] ([name_f]Millie[/name_f])
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] ([name_f]Winnie[/name_f] or [name_u]Freddie[/name_u])
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] ([name_f]Francie[/name_f] or [name_u]Frankie[/name_u])
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] ([name_f]Hattie[/name_f])
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] ([name_f]Ruthie[/name_f])
[name_u]Louise[/name_u] ([name_u]Lou[/name_u])
I think [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] is very sweet and spunky! It doesn’t match perfectly with [name_f]Olga[/name_f], but if you love it I think that’s more important.
I 100% second everyone saying to choose the name you love first. Your children will always be more so their own people than their relationship with their sibling(s), so choose your favorite first! Also, [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] is one of my favorite names and it’s so adorable! Great picks overall!
I agree with others to also consider [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] with [name_f]Olga[/name_f]. Going with the name you love is often better than settling for something else just because it “fits” better.
It makes me so sad to hear that you’ve had people diss the name! [name_f]Olga[/name_f] is an absolutely stunning name and is on my long list as well. Never let anyone tell you otherwise or feel bad for your naming choice! One day your daughter should feel very proud to have such an elegant name. The name literally means holy/blessed!
Marnie is super cute and I think it fits, even if they’re objectively different styles. Here are some more ideas, sorry for repeats!
