Sister names for Betty?

I think I’ve finally decided that if I ever use [name]Betty[/name] it’ll be as a nickname for [name]Beatrice[/name] instead of as a full first name (I got like 99% bad feedback on just using it as the first name haha), but now I have a different dilemma. All the names I like would go really well with [name]Beatrice[/name] but I don’t know how they would go with [name]Betty[/name] (which we would call her 99.9% of the time). [name]Beatrice[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] works well to me but I’m not sure about [name]Betty[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name]…it seems like [name]Betty[/name] and [name]Veronica[/name] from the [name]Archie[/name] comics, [name]Betty[/name] being the all-American laid-back beach girl and [name]Veronica[/name] being the exotic, intriguing, sexier girl. I like both images, I just don’t know how [name]Betty[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] (which is a lot like [name]Veronica[/name] image-wise for me) would go as sisters. Same with all my other favorite names. They all seem too…fancy next to [name]Betty[/name]. Am I crazy? And if I’m not any suggestions/advice?

Of your favorites, I really like [name]Millie[/name]. You could do the same thing and go with a longer, more formal name and then use [name]Millie[/name] as a nickname. [name]Camilla[/name] goes well with [name]Beatrice[/name].

[name]Lila[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], & [name]Betty[/name] ([name]Betty[/name] was her given name) were hubby’s grandma & sisters.

From your choices:
[name]Violet[/name], [name]Cora[/name], [name]Millie[/name] and [name]Janie[/name] all go with [name]Betty[/name] - similar era names.

[name]Claudia[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] are lovely, and they could be [name]Betty[/name] and [name]Dia[/name]?
I also think [name]Betty[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] are gorgeous together!

[name]Claudia[/name] & [name]Beatrice[/name] really are a great sib set, and like pp said it could be [name]Betty[/name] & [name]Dia[/name] or maybe [name]Betty[/name] & [name]Clea[/name] or [name]Betty[/name] & [name]Lottie[/name]?

As for matching with [name]Betty[/name] I think [name]Millie[/name] is the best name from your list. A longer name could be [name]Camille[/name]/[name]Camilla[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Millicent[/name], [name]Emily[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Mildred[/name], [name]Milena[/name], [name]Romilda[/name], [name]Romilly[/name]

[name]Matilda[/name] is also a cute way to get to [name]Millie[/name]!

You guys are right about [name]Millie[/name]! I agree [name]Betty[/name] and [name]Dia[/name] etc would work but I love [name]Claudia[/name] too much to shorten it haha :frowning:

If our baby due in [name_f]October[/name_f] is a girl we’re naming her [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] but calling her [name_f]Betty[/name_f] pretty exclusively. Our other DD is [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], and I think [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f] are perfect sister names. I actually really pushed for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] nn [name_f]Betty[/name_f] but couldn’t get DH on board.
