Sister options for Lydia Elise

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everybody,
I’m a long-time lurker, first time poster. I have an 18-month-old daughter, [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f], who often just goes by [name_f]Lydie[/name_f]. We are now16 weeks with baby number 2. We are fairly confident that our boy name is [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] ([name_m]Arthur[/name_m] may change but [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] in the middle spot is a definite). We feel a bit overwhelmed choosing another girl name! Below are some suggestions I like but my husband is a little iffy on:
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] (he ‘quite likes’ [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] but isn’t sure he loves it)
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]May[/name_f] (not sure about middle, maybe [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] again?)
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (strong no from husband)
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (strong no, too ‘granny’ for husband)
[name_f]Morganna[/name_f] (strong no from husband ‘I don’t like that it sounds like organs’)

He likes:

I don’t hate his name choices, they just aren’t my style and don’t feel like they would ever be right for a daughter of mine.

Any suggestions or comments would be great.
Thanks so much,
[name_f]Tawny[/name_f] x

I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]! Definitely food for thought. Thank you!

I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f], so gorgeous! [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a lovely classic choice too! I really like [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] with nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_f]Lydie[/name_f] sound like a lovely pair.
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is sweet but [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is quite harsh sounding in my opinion.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] is so cute especially with nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u]! If you’re not sure on [name_f]May[/name_f] maybe you’d like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]?
I actually really like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] but can see why others may not.
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is my grandma’s name so I quite like it but agree that it is a little ‘old-ladyish’.
Not a massive fan of [name_f]Morganna[/name_f] personally.

Names that spring to mind:
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] - similar to imogen with the shakespearean connection.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f]
If he likes [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] maybe [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - I really like the flow of [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] although it might be to similar to [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]’s middle name [name_f]Elise[/name_f].
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] - A cute pairing with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriett[/name_f] - nickname [name_f]Hetty[/name_f] or [name_f]Hatty[/name_f], has a similar vintage and literary vibe to [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - nn [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] / [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] / [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] any spelling, I think this looks really sweet with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and nn [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is adorable!

Also love @12queen ‘s suggestions of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]!!

I think you prefer more classic and unique names, whereas he prefers names that feel more current. [name_m]Hence[/name_m] your little [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]! You should look for another name like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], that bridges the two styles.
Oh, and by the way, if [name_f]Morganna[/name_f] sounds like organs, what about [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f]?
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]/Callista “[name_f]Callie[/name_f]”
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] “[name_f]Cora[/name_f]”
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]” “[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]”
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] ([name_f]Theodora[/name_f] “[name_f]Thea[/name_f]”?)

Is [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] a possible contender for the first thought? [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]? Maybe [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]? [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]?

Congratulations! I also was a long time lurker. Now I am obsessed.

I love yours daughter’s name. It’s a timeless classic and absolutely gorgeous! I think we have a similar style.

Of your options I really like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] with [name_f]Ada[/name_f]/ [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].

I would pair [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] ([name_u]Romy[/name_u]) ([name_f]Roe[/name_f]) , [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] , [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]

Some suggestions and girls names that I adore
I hope that’s helpful!!

I tried to find names that have a little bit of “frill” to suit your husband’s style—or similar sounds to the names he likes. You’ve gotten so many good suggestions; I’ll only add:

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is a sweet name, & [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] would be so cute for a little brother.

Here are my thoughts on your lists for a sister-

[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]-[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] is nice w/Lydia. It’s strong yet super feminine. Well known but not over done. And the nns [name_f]Franny[/name_f] or [name_f]Francie[/name_f] are way adorable. I don’t love the flow of [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] personally. It has a lot of 'n’s & 'r’s.

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]-So pretty! Sweet, simple, down to earth, old fashioned.

[name_f]May[/name_f]-I love the sweet simplicity & classic elegance of this. [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] sounds great. [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] would be good too.

Too bad that your dh doesn’t like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] & [name_f]Morganna[/name_f] are not my favorites either. I do like other [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names. Maybe you guys do too? [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] or [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] are all really nice. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is my favorite w/Lydia & in general. And if your dh doesn’t like [name_f]Morganna[/name_f], what about [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f]? That’s a bit softer in my opinion. Plus, the nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]!

It seems like your dh’s list are all very typical. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I love [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] & quite like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] & [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].

Here are a few suggestions that maybe you guys could agree on-

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

Of your options, I absolutely LOVE May Josephine, and Lydie & May feels right to me as a sibset too. I do like Francesca Wren as well, it’s just not my style, and whilst I adore Ada Josephine as a combo, I’m not sure Lydia & Ada is the best pair

Other options:

Lydia Elise & Hazel Wren or Lydia Elise & Hazel Josephine is probably my top suggestion for combos

I also wonder how you feel about making Josephine a first if that’s the name DH is most on board with - Lydia & Josie sound like a fine pair

[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]

[name_u]Vida[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Corrine[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Carly[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
Tabitha [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]/Romilly “[name_u]Romy[/name_u]” [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “[name_u]Penny[/name_u]”
[name_f]Danica[/name_f]/Annika [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
[name_f]Talia[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Marnie[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
Tamsin Wren “Tansy”
Sylvie Jo

Ada [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is gorgeous and I love Francesa [name_u]Wren[/name_u] too!

Lydia [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and…

Florence [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u]

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]

We have a [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and expecting another girl in a few weeks! We’ve really struggled with what to name this little sister but we’re considering [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], and [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f].

Names I think suit [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] are
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Bella[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] are lovely. [name_f]Lydie[/name_f] and [name_f]Bella[/name_f]
