Sister to Beatrix?

My husband and I are expecting a new puppy! We’re on the waitlist for a white or silver sable [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] born in [name_u]January[/name_u]. We already have one dog, [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] ([name_f]Bea[/name_f]), who is a brindle lab/pit mix. We still have awhile before the pup is born, but we can’t decide on a name!

Have any suggestions?

Names I like:

Josephine ([name_u]Josie[/name_u])
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] ([name_f]Roz[/name_f])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ([name_f]Tillie[/name_f])
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] ([name_u]Willow[/name_u])
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] ([name_f]Rosie[/name_f])
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] ([name_f]Viv[/name_f])
[name_f]Freyja[/name_f]

Hi there.

Bea sounds soooo cute! The beautiful girl in my profile picture is my Pit mix, [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. So, I love the name [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] for a dog, of course. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband wanted to name her [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] as a fn, but she’s just so serious sometimes that it was too spunky for her. :dog:

Anyway, here are my thoughts for your new baby-

Josephine-A [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] named [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would just be so unexpected & delightful. I love it. [name_f]Bea[/name_f] & [name_u]Josie[/name_u] are really cute.

Rosalind-A [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] named [name_f]Roz[/name_f] is actually pretty hilarious, even though [name_f]Roz[/name_f] is not my cup of tea.

Matilda-I prefer [name_f]Millie[/name_f], but [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] & [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are very cute.

Madeline-I like it, but I don’t know if it seems exciting enough.

Willoughby-That’s kind of interesting. I think that [name_u]Willow[/name_u] is pretty common for dogs if that bothers you. And humans, really.

Olive-Aw, I love it. I know a beautiful hound/lab/pittie mix called this.

Hawthorne-A bit too boyish.

Rosemary-I really like this for a [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], but [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is also a very common dog name.

Vivienne-[name_f]Bea[/name_f] & [name_f]Viv[/name_f] sound like old ladies. Really fun!

Freyja-That’s beautiful, & I can totally picture it on a [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m].

A few more ideas:

Clover

Clara

Dorothy-maybe nn [name_f]Dot[/name_f]/Dottie

Eleanor-maybe nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]

Edith

Harriet- maybe nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]

Marigold

Primrose-maybe nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]…or [name_f]Posy[/name_f]? [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] seems better for a [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] though.

Ruth-maybe nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]

Stella

Willa

Hope this helps.
