Mine and my husband’s top two names boys are [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] and [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m]. I’m always looking for girl names to fit with them! Anything goes.
So what would you name a sister to [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] and [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m]?
Wow, I have never heard those boys names… and thats rare! Plus, they’re super duper cute!! [name_m]Ah[/name_m], a girls name?! i keep thinking [name_u]Dakota[/name_u]/[name_f]Alaska[/name_f]/[name_u]Denver[/name_u] for a girl every time i see the names.
I also like the suggestions of [name_u]Hero[/name_u], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Saga[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
I loved another poster’s mention of [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], it just seems to fit so nicely with your two boy picks.
Some others that you may like:
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
[name_f]Adalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
[name_f]Livia[/name_f]
I think that your best bet in getting a great match for your boy names is to go for something really Greek, I think it would suit the other two’s name style magnificently
Thank you for the suggestions you guys! There are a lot I am fond of. Below is a list of the ones I really like and would consider using or are longtime faves I haven’t convinced myself of using yet. There were more suggestions I liked but didn’t include because they are unusable for me, like other Arthurian legend names ([name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Morgana[/name_f]).
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] - I do prefer [name_f]Clio[/name_f], the muse of history, as I went to university for it!
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] - I love this, but there are so many different pronunciations people use!
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f] - We’d have to pronounce it ro-when-uh
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] - Unfortunately this is a little too popular for my taste
[name_u]Hero[/name_u] - I worry this would be too much for a child, but I love it so much
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] - One of my all time favorites, but I think I would get tired of all the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] remarks…
[name_f]Saga[/name_f] - I don’t know if I can get past seeing the word sag…
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it, I need to decide if it’s doable with my long, complicated last name though
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - This is one of my favorite girl names, but I don’t like how it sounds with [name_m]Emrys[/name_m]!
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] - [name_f]Isidora[/name_f] has been on my list for a long time!
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] - It’s exactly my style, but I can’t seem to love it!
[name_f]Olwen[/name_f] - I think the nickname Owl would be so cute for this name!
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] - I wonder if this will be getting much more popular soon?
[name_f]Anwen[/name_f] - There are like 4 family members this would honor, so that would be cool!
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] - This getting too popular for me
[name_f]Reverie[/name_f] - I wonder if this, along with other fun word names, will be considered trendy/dated later on?
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] - Such a fun name!
I would love more suggestions if anyone is up for it!
I agree fagnou! My problem is finding that perfect balance between a Greek name I love but the pronunciation isn’t too complicated for English speakers and one that works with [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] and [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m]. My last name is also long and complex, and often Greek names are a bit complex. Which is also why I love them! Curse this conundrum!
I was going to suggest [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] Nd [name_f]Juno[/name_f] but see they’re already there. I also love [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] pronounced with the ‘when’ and would consider spelling it Rowenna. I also love [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_f]Olwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Anwen[/name_f] on your list.
Feels like [name_u]Merlyn[/name_u] or Merrilla are the natural choice. [name_f]Nimue[/name_f], Ygrainne, [name_f]Morrigan[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], any of these could do.
