Sister to Georgia? Virginia?

Help!

Our first little one, we named after my husband’s grandmother (Georgia) and my paternal grandmother (Rose). My maternal grandmother’s feelings were hurt, as I suppose she felt left out. We are 17 weeks with our second daughter (last baby), and I would like to honor her or my mother with our baby’s name, but I need serious help! Her name is Lora Virginia with a maiden name of Cecil, but Lora is out since it is also the name of my husband’s ex wife. Also, where our first born is named Georgia, would it be too matchy to also have a Virginia? Oh, and my mother’s name is Donna Lynn. Also, my maternal great grandmother’s name was Ella Mae. Here are my current possible names, but I’m completely open to suggestions! Our last name is Terrell, which rhymes with Carol/Ferrell.

Cecilia Mae
Virginia Mae
Virginia Lynn

Unrelated names that I also like:
Ava James
Annie
Daisy
Vivienne
Catherine
Caroline

Cecília Mae is STUNNING, but Virginia Mae would also be adorable imo

I also like Ava James, Vivienne and Daisy but not as much as the others

[name_f]Lora[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] honours - [name_f]Alora[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f], [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], [name_u]Laurel[/name_u], [name_u]Sora[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f] (from Cecil), Ginerva

[name_f]Donna[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] honours - [name_f]Belladonna[/name_f], [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is perfect for you. You have the V which can honor [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] and the nn which could honor [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]. [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] could honor all 3.

I love [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] here! There’s also [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], if that appeals.

Personally I wouldn’t go with [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] because of the state names but also because I feel like having “virgin” so prominently in one’s name could make for a tough batch of jokes when she’s a teenager (I know there’s [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] to fall back on, I just don’t love [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] personally).

One avenue for honouring [name_f]Lora[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] could also be by using LV initials, or even an L first name with [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] as the middle. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], etc?

Having both a [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] feels too matchy and focused on a theme of place names to me. I think that [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is beautiful though! It fits perfectly with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and will still honor her in a sweet way.

If you’re okay with having two names that start with G, I think [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] might be a sweet way to honor [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]! You can call her [name_f]Ginny[/name_f]! The only thing is the show [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], but I’m pretty sure most people won’t make the connection

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] all the way! I don’t think I would want two state names but there’s nothing wrong with it if you really like [name_f]Virginia[/name_f].

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] could call each other [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_f]Cece[/name_f]! So cute! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Other ideas…
[name_f]Ellora[/name_f], a combo of [name_f]Lora[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f], maybe as a middle
[name_f]Lara[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is lovely though I admit I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] which is one of my top names.
I also think that Lenore/a would work as a variation on [name_f]Lora[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I do think that [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] is a bit too much with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f].

The question with [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] is if you have another kid, would you feel pressured to find a state name? [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] is basically the only one left that feels actually wearable.

For that reason [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] might be a better pick.
