Done and done!
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]- I don’t think a name’s origin matters if you love it. I think [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is great, but it is too close to [name_f]Leah[/name_f] in my opinion.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]- Agree that [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is not the best combo.
I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u] or [name_u]Mirren[/name_u] especially with [name_u]Lee[/name_u].
I like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] or [name_u]Drew[/name_u].
I don’t think [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], or [name_f]Adele[/name_f] ([name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]=a deli) work with the middle name [name_u]Lee[/name_u] at all.
The other names are just not my style.
Good luck!
I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is gorgeous and would never even have thought of anally. I have a friend who named her child this and think it is so pretty. My favorite on your list is [name_f]Mary[/name_f], but [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sounds like [name_f]Merrily[/name_f].
I love [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. I think [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is fine even though you’re not Scottish!
If you like [name_f]Anna[/name_f], what about something like [name_f]Annika[/name_f] or [name_f]Annia[/name_f]? They’d go nicely with your other girls’ names, and [name_f]Annika[/name_f] works with your [name_m]German[/name_m]/Norwegian side.
Otherwise, maybe [name_f]Kaia[/name_f], [name_f]Petra[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Martina[/name_f]?
I really like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is nice too, but I hear it so much lately. Might not be a problem in your area…[name_f]Do[/name_f] your other girls go by their first and middle name? Would you plan on calling her [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] or just [name_f]Anna[/name_f]? I don’t think the teasing would be an issue at all if she just went by [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. Kids don’t usually know their classmates middle names right? It’s a pretty combo. I’ve always thought [name_f]Annaleigh[/name_f] was a pretty name, but I wouldn’t use it because of the teasing potential. I wouldn’t think twice about using [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] if I wanted though.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-If [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is the middle name when will other kids even know that? To me [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is perfectly fine.
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]-I am not sure of [name_f]Isla[/name_f]’s history but it is a name not unheard of in NZ where I am from. (WE are not Scotish either)! I think it is a lovely name! However it is very close to [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. I also think [name_f]Neve[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Evie[/name_f].
[name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Drea[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f]
My suggestion: [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeva[/name_f]
I would avoid [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is close in sound with the Biblical classic [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and stylistically the odd one out with vintage [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. [name_f]Isla[/name_f] seems flimsy in comparison, though it is a lovely name, I just see it becoming trendy like the names you mentioned ([name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f]), because it is a 2 syl girl name ending in la.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]- [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] seems a bit plain compared to her sister’s names
[name_f]Maryanna[/name_f]- I prefer [name_u]Marian[/name_u] or [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f]- Doesn’t fit with the sibset stylistically or Lee, I would use at least a 2 syl name w/ 1 syl Lee
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]- I wouldn’t use another G name
[name_u]Marian[/name_u]- [name_f]Love[/name_f] this!
[name_u]Mirren[/name_u]- Makes me immediately think of actress [name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Drea[/name_f]- Seems incomplete
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]- beautiful name and meaning but Liv Lee doesn’t sound that great to me
[name_f]Neve[/name_f]- Too close to [name_f]GeNEVieve[/name_f], but I love the name, how about [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]?
[name_f]Adele[/name_f]- I love ths with [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] BUT… out loud [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sounds like “a deli”
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]- Like [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], pretty but a different style
[name_u]Drew[/name_u]- too unisex with sisters, I would assume she was a boy, especially with androgynous [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]- this is Pretty but [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] reminds me of the food co. [name_f]Saralee[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]!
I know it’s not on your list, but I have a [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] of my own, and I think it’s a great sis combo
Thank you all so much for your suggestions and honest opinions!
I love [name_u]Marian[/name_u] nn [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] sounds adorable!
Congrats on your future bunny, you have some very pretty name choices!
I think out of the list you have my favourites are:
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] - I have recently fallen in love with this name, plus [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sounds lovely together.
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] - I love the meaning of this name and I think it has almost an ethereal quality, just gorgeous.
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] - This is a simple and lovely name and it goes quite well with [name_u]Lee[/name_u].
[name_f]Neve[/name_f] - I love this name but I agree with previous users, it is a little too close to [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]
Best of luck with naming your little girl!
What about [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f]? [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] cuts off the teasing possibility of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. It’s familiar but uncommon. It’s pretty and goes well with [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. And you could use [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] as a nn if you wanted to.
Appreciate the suggestions, all of you.
Ok well off of your list I love [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u]! I love [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] the most as a first name but I think everyone would mistake her for [name_u]Brinley[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sounds great so that’s definitely my favorite paired with [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. A name I would suggest is [name_f]Vera[/name_f] (V-[name_f]Air[/name_f]-uh) since you said you liked names with V’s. I think it goes well with the 4 letter “theme” for the first names ([name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Evie[/name_f]) and it goes well with [name_u]Lee[/name_u] ([name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]) in my opinion. So that is my all time top choice for you! I also think [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] flows well.
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Cari[/name_f]) [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_u]Marion[/name_u] (nn [name_f]Mari[/name_f]) [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Miri[/name_f]) [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
I love [name_u]Marian[/name_u] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u], they’re good choices that are similar to [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. I adore [name_f]Neve[/name_f] too.
I honestly wouldn’t be overly concerned about [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] being a source of teasing potential unless you plan on calling her by both names (though I certainly appreciate your sensitivity to it). I honestly don’t think I knew the middle names of any of my classmates unless they were used as preferred names.
My favorites from your list are [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u]. I like [name_u]Mirren[/name_u] & [name_u]Marian[/name_u], but I prefer [name_f]Miriam[/name_f].
[name_f]Liv[/name_f] seems to require a full name ([name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]).
[name_f]Neve[/name_f] is a little too close to [name_f]Evie[/name_f] for my tastes.
Other V names:
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]/[name_u]Vivien[/name_u]/[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] ([name_f]Vivi[/name_f])
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
Evanageline ([name_u]Angie[/name_u])
[name_u]Ever[/name_u]
Random Suggestions:
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
I was just reading your newer thread where you ask for gut reactions to [name_f]Isla[/name_f]…so I guess that is your front runner now? I do think it is much too close to [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and encourage you to avoid it for that reason.
I really love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] from your original list, and thinks it pairs much better with the other girls. I don’t think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is a deal breaker. If it makes you feel better, I know a grown-up [name_f]Annaleigh[/name_f] who has not had too many problems at all. It will be far less obvious for your [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] as the [name_u]Lee[/name_u] part will be a separate name. I think they are very pretty together.
I also like [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] a lot. [name_u]Marian[/name_u] is terribly underused and definitely a name that is ripe for revival. I think that would be a beautiful choice. [name_f]Mari[/name_f] is a cute nickname, too!
You say you like names with a ‘v’ sound-- why not [name_f]Vera[/name_f]?
Besides [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], I also thought of:
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_u]Averil[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] ([name_f]Liv[/name_f])
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Myla[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
But I think you should put aside your concerns and consider [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
I agree with the comments-- [name_f]Isla[/name_f] too similar to [name_f]Leah[/name_f], but it sounds like you are leaning more towards [name_u]Marian[/name_u] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f]/[name_f]Mari[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] now. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], and [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] are my favorites from your list. I know an [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] with the nn [name_f]Ana[/name_f] (but pronounced like [name_f]Anna[/name_f]), so maybe that would work for you if you want a longer name (just don’t use [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] unless you like the [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] poem). [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Annamaria[/name_f], or [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] may work for you too.
I love [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. I don’t think it’s too “pretty for pretty’s sake.” I like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] with [name_u]Lee[/name_u] because I think it gives a nice contrast; [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is so simple and is unisex, but [name_f]Isla[/name_f]'s super feminine and pretty, but I don’t think that it’s necessarily frilly? [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is a no for me. I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] but paired with [name_u]Lee[/name_u], I just don’t think it works.
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is so gorgeous! I’m obsessed with [name_u]Marian[/name_u] right now, and I love love love the combination. So pretty. Plus, you would get both [name_u]Marian[/name_u] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] if you use [name_u]Marian[/name_u].
So [name_u]Marian[/name_u] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] are definitely my favorites.
