We are having a second little girl, sister to [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. We love the name [name_f]Julia[/name_f] but can’t use it. Our other top names are [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (fear too common), [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] (too Russian? We are not Russian), and [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. Thoughts? Other ideas?
Congratulations and welcome to Nameberry!!!
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] is such a lovely boy name, and I’m so partial to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] because it’s one of my all-time favorites! They go wonderfully together too!
[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] - [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is such a lovely name, and it’s so classic and timeless but still feels fresh and natural. I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] as a nickname for my favorite name ever [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I personally think that [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or [name_u]Elisa[/name_u] would sound better with [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f], but it could work. As for how common it is, the only [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] I know is like 11.
[name_f]Sonia[/name_f] - [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] isn’t too Russian at all!! It’s so beautiful and elegant. I know the nicest girl with this name! I personally could never bring myself to use it, but it goes great with [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
[name_f]Natalie[/name_f] - Honestly, I love the name [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. It has charm and feels fresh and sweet. But I don’t think it sounds that great with [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. I’d use [name_f]Natalia[/name_f], [name_f]Natasha[/name_f], or [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] if you wanted a form of this name.

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is great. [name_m]Can[/name_m] you do [name_f]Julia[/name_f] variations? [name_u]Jules[/name_u]?
Huge congratulations!
I really like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] with Luc@ + Ann@ I think they have a similar feel and have such a spunky sweet vintage vibe.
[name_f]Sonia[/name_f] has never really appealed to me I also think stylistically they do not work that well with the sweet wholesome Luc@ + Ann@ however I can see the appeal she feels strong and distinguished.
[name_f]Natalie[/name_f] is a lovely timeless classic that feels wholesome but doesn’t have the fashionable feel of Luc@ + Ann@.
You’ve had lots of lovely suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries

[name_u]Welcome[/name_u] to NB!
Congrats on baby girl! Of yours, I would choose [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] but it was #122 last year…
Here are a few suggestions that are less popular and end in the same sound as the big sibs and are shorter:
[name_f]Junia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f]
[name_u]Sasha[/name_u] (love this with the sibset)
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Prisca[/name_f]
[name_f]Kiera[/name_f] (Keer-uh)
[name_u]Senna[/name_u]
[name_f]Tina[/name_f]
Others that are longer/end in different sounds:
[name_f]Marietta[/name_f] “Mari or Etta” for short
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] (love this with the sibset)
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] (love this one too)
Hopefully these help!
With [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f], I like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
I’ll suggest:
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Sara[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_u]Zoe[/name_u]
[name_u]Cleo[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
Congratulations! Your kids have great names.
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] & [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] are both lovely. I lean toward [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] as it has a more “global” appeal, like [name_u]Luca[/name_u] & [name_f]Anna[/name_f].

[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Talia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tasha[/name_f]
[name_f]Sonia[/name_f] is great! It does not feel too Russian. I would use [name_f]Sonia[/name_f]!
[name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and…
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Frida[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Selma[/name_f]
[name_f]Celine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Chiara[/name_f]
[name_u]Elisa[/name_u]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Lotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f] / [name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
Either [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] would be lovely - you don’t need to look further but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] also v nice. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is a perfect match and not too popular, and [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] is international (not too Russian) and a bit more unique. Personally prefer [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], but go with what you love.
I like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. At #122, I don’t think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is too common, unless you happen to know a lot of Elizas in your area or something.
[name_f]Sonia[/name_f] is pretty and underused. Also it is not just Russian, the Nameberry entry for [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] says it’s also Scandinavian and Ukrainian. So it’s a name for multiple cultures and I think you can use it anywhere.
I also love [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. But [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] is actually more common than [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], it’s only #55. Is that too popular for you?
All of these names are good names, and would work. Good luck.
I really like the name [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] for you.
Luc@, Ann@ and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
I love two vowel names together. Sisters Ann@ and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (Emma or Emmy) sound so good together. I like how a three syllable name breaks the two syllable pattern. I like that [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is softer sounding than [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] with the long i sound. Luc@, Ann@ and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] could also work.
I think [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] is perfect!
I love [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u]!
I do think you will run into far less Sonia’s if you are afraid of popularity
I will suggest
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Vada[/name_f]
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Sonia[/name_f] is well known so my mind does not go to ‘Russian name’ because it is well used in the general population but would you like the spelling of [name_f]Sonja[/name_f]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] would [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] work in place of [name_f]Julia[/name_f]? Otherwise, I really like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Natalie[/name_f].
The more I think about it, I think a name like [name_f]Emily[/name_f] might work better than [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], because it is more of a classic like [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. Another vowel classic name I thought of is [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].
Luc@, Ann@ and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
Luc@, Ann@ and [name_f]Emily[/name_f]
If we are talking classics, why not [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
Luc@, Ann@ and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
