Nowhere near TTC, but I’ve been really loving [name]Tessa[/name] lately for a daughter. My boys names are pretty set right now and, I think, go well with [name]Tessa[/name] (my top three boys are [name]Theodore[/name] “[name]Teddy[/name]”, [name]Jonathan[/name] “[name]Jon[/name]/[name]Jace[/name]”, and [name]Elijah[/name] “[name]Eli[/name]” - just to give you a sense of my style. If you click Gentlemen in my signature you can see all the boys names on my list…).
As for other girls names, I am a bit more… up in the air. I like a ton more than I do for boys (see my Ladies list below) and they seem to be rather everywhere stylistically.
Others that really appeal to me right now:
[name]Jessamine[/name] (which, with [name]Tessa[/name] seems too matchy)
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Morgana[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name] (I have a niece with this name)
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Nerissa[/name] (one of my sisters is [name]Marissa[/name], so this one wouldn’t be an option, but I like it)
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
Lots of good options, but do any of them “work” with [name]Tessa[/name]? Does it even matter? Any other names you can think of that might work and fit with my everywhere style? My only real conditions for names are that they aren’t “trendy” and aren’t spelled in “unique” ways. I tend to like classic, mythological, or literary names. But I’m open to all suggestions.
I picture a [name]Claire[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Eva[/name], or [name]Ivy[/name] with [name]Tessa[/name]. Of your options, I think [name]Avery[/name], [name]Rowan[/name], and [name]Phoebe[/name] would work well!
I have a [name]Claire[/name] and really wanted a [name]Tessa[/name] for dd#2, but the husband will not go for it. I think they work really well together. I can also see an [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] with [name]Tessa[/name]. I like [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], and [name]Avery[/name] with [name]Tessa[/name] from your list! [name]Tessa[/name] seems pretty versatile to me actually.
I love [name]Theodore[/name] "[name]Teddy[/name] with [name]Tessa[/name] btw!
From your options I like [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name].
I would suggest [name]Bridget[/name] as a sister to [name]Tessa[/name]!
Good luck!
I really like your list! My favorites with [name]Tessa[/name] are [name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Josie[/name] or Phina), [name]Louisa[/name] ([name]Lou[/name] or Weezi) [name]Lucille[/name] ([name]Lucy[/name]) & [name]Nerissa[/name] ([name]Rissa[/name] or [name]Nissa[/name])
Some others I like with [name]Tessa[/name] are [name]Calista[/name] ([name]Cali[/name]), [name]Francine[/name] (Cici or [name]Francie[/name]), [name]Oriana[/name] ([name]Orie[/name]) or [name]Rosalie[/name] ([name]Rosie[/name]).
Oh, I really do love [name]Claire[/name]! That is an excellent suggestion. [name]Rosalie[/name] is awesome, too, but my future husband’s aunt is [name]Rosie[/name], so that is a no-go as a first name, unfortunately.
Thank you! [name]Teddy[/name] and [name]Tessa[/name] as brother and sister make me swoon a bit, haha.
And thanks everyone for the suggestions! You are helping me to see that some on my list [name]DO[/name] make sense together
I like your lists. [name]Tessa[/name] is one of my favorite names too! [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Morgana[/name], [name]Louisa[/name], & [name]Phoebe[/name] all sound nice with [name]Tessa[/name].
I took names from your list that I thought sounded good:
[name]Adeline[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Elinor[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Isobel[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Leonie[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], & [name]Violet[/name]
My favorite names with [name]Tessa[/name] are [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Miranda[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Rosaline[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Helena[/name], and [name]Veronica[/name].
[name]Tessa[/name] is a hard one to match with because so many girls names end with the same -sa sound, so it won’t sound good with names that end in a double letter a ending ([name]Willa[/name], [name]Linnea[/name]). Good luck!
Thanks! I’ve always liked [name]Tessa[/name] and recently rediscovered it and since then there are all these people with love for the name! (or maybe I am just noticing them now, haha)
And I know exactly what you mean about the double letter endings being tough to pair together. Another one I adore is [name]Gemma[/name], but [name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name] sound so matchy to me even though they are really very different. And then would I feel obligated if I had a third girl to do another 5 letter with double letters ending in a? I do like [name]Willa[/name] as well, so maybe I could go all out and try for [name]Tessa[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Willa[/name]. Haha, blech - too much!
I’m really appreciating all the suggestions Thank you all.
I am really starting to like [name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Josie[/name] more with [name]Tessa[/name]. Though I do like the combo [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Kate[/name] a lot. But I can work with that…
I do love [name]Penelope[/name], but unfortunately one of my SO’s cousins is marrying a man with a demon daughter (like, seriously, she likes hurting cats and randomly tears her sheets to shreds but the father refuses to put her in therapy…) who’s name is [name]Penelope[/name], so I think the family connection is too much, Maybe not so much for me, but my SO would never agree to it.
I’m surprised so many think [name]Avery[/name] would work with [name]Tessa[/name]. They just seem so different in style to me, though I obviously love both.
