Skylar Austin

I know this particular spelling is more girly if anything but, I wanted to try it out on a boy. This is a name that we both agreed with, the name [name]Skylar[/name] has been in our list for a while and I have a really close friend name [name]Austin[/name] and we thought i’d be a strong masculine middle name. Thoughts, Nameberries? His full name would be [name]Skylar[/name] [name]Austin[/name] [name]Terry[/name].

Anyone please? thoughts on the name?

I’ve always preferred the original Dutch spelling [name]Schuyler[/name] to the phonetic spellings of [name]Skyler[/name]/[name]Skylar[/name] but that’s just me. If I had to choose between [name]Skyler[/name] and [name]Skylar[/name], I like the “ar” spelling better even though it’s the usual female spelling of the name. I’ve never been a fan of [name]Austin[/name] but it does sound strong with [name]Skylar[/name]. It’s not my style but [name]Skylar[/name] [name]Austin[/name] [name]Terry[/name] isn’t bad at all. I think [name]Sky[/name] [name]Terry[/name] would be a pretty cool nickname for him.

I knows guys and girls named [name]Skylar[/name], and I think it works for a boy.

I like [name]Skylar[/name] [name]Austin[/name]… [name]Even[/name] if it’s more popular on girls, [name]Skylar[/name] will always be a boys name to me. [name]Skylar[/name] [name]Austin[/name] [name]Terry[/name] is a nice name, but the initials SAT are questionable.

I think it works but even with [name]Austin[/name] as a middle, with this spelling, I would assume girl if I was reading it.

I also love the [name]Schuyler[/name] spelling. So unbelievably handsome. I do like that [name]Skylar[/name] contains sky, but if that’s the draw for you, why not just nickname him [name]Sky[/name]?
[name]Schuyler[/name] [name]Austin[/name]… I like the two U’s, and I like that [name]Schuyler[/name] is longer than [name]Austin[/name]. You have a 2/2/2 rhythm, so it’s nice to have names that are different lengths in written form.
I think it’s a great name (with the spelling caveat.) Strong, evocative of land and sky, lyrical but not at all frilly.

Eh, I’m not too fond of [name]Schuyler[/name] It’s not style at all. :expressionless:
