Slightly Confused....

There are few names that I can’t decide whether I like or not. They are [name]Sebastian[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], and [name]Liberty[/name]. Sometimes I adore them and other times I just think ‘no way’. I’m really confused, so I just need you Berries to give your opinions on these names really

[name]Sebastian[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t love. Best friend loves, many of my friends love it, and its classic and all. But I don’t like itm and it’s over-popular amongst people I know. I slightly prefer [name]Bastien[/name] and I wouldn’t really use that either.

[name]Jude[/name] - I like [name]Jude[/name] a lot, but I would use it as a NN for [name]Judah[/name], which I adore.

[name]Nathaniel[/name] - I love it, and [name]Nathanael[/name], incredibly, but my husband vetoed it.

[name]Vivienne[/name] - I love it, am working on using it maybe (probably the [name]Vivien[/name] spelling though)

[name]Liberty[/name] - I wish I liked it, as I want to name after a [name]Liba[/name], but I don’t love it. I do love [name]Verity[/name] and [name]Amity[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] but [name]Liberty[/name] is maybe that step too far. Also it makes my husband incredibly angry, which I didn’t expect but I don’t forsee him getting over.

[name]Sebastian[/name] – I can see the appeal, but I’ve enver liked the name much.
[name]Jude[/name] – Has a really strong, handsome sound. I think I prefer [name]Reuben[/name] though. Idk why I say that, I just think they are similar, so I compare them in my head.
[name]Nathaniel[/name] – Great name! It’s well-established historically. The name has so many perfect components – strong sound but a nice soft finish, distinguished, but with a very approachable nn option of [name]Nate[/name]. So yeah, love this one!

[name]Vivienne[/name] – I just recently discovered this name, and I really like it! It is elegant and spunky at the same time.
[name]Liberty[/name] – nms as it is just too much of a word name for me. I prefer [name]Verity[/name] or even [name]Clarity[/name].

[name]Sebastian[/name] – I have distant cousins who named a son this about two months ago. They call him “Sebi.” All of my closer relatives laughed (not to their faces). I think it’s a heavy name for a child to carry. I’m sure my cousin was named after [name]Johann[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Bach[/name], and I like the sentiment, but I think it’s clunky and he may feel that it’s not a name for his generation. Still, having said that, I like [name]Sebastian[/name] better than the top 200 popular names, and I like the fact that it isn’t made up or spelled creatively.

[name]Jude[/name] – Again, not my style, but I like this better than [name]Sebastian[/name]. I think [name]Jude[/name] sounds a bit feminine. When I hear [name]Jude[/name], I think [name]Judy[/name]/[name]Judith[/name], which is very dated to me, and not ready for a comeback. I do, however, like [name]Judah[/name]. I know the -a ending should make it sound MORE feminine to me, but I think [name]Judah[/name] sounds manly, strong, and ancient–not ancient and unusable like [name]Sebastian[/name] (my opinion), but ancient and timeless.

[name]Nathaniel[/name] --I like this. It’s a bit too popular for my taste, but I think [name]Nathan[/name]/[name]Nathaniel[/name] just look and sound really attractive. If I were ever going to consider more popular names, [name]Nathan[/name]/[name]Nathaniel[/name] would be up there on my list…and it’s not SO popular that he would have ten others in his class.

[name]Vivienne[/name] --I like this too. Personal preference would be [name]Viviana[/name], which I think sounds almost musical when you say it, but [name]Vivienne[/name] is nice too, and not overly-popular, which is a huge plus in my book!

[name]Liberty[/name] – This is so cute, and I love the nickname [name]Libby[/name] that you know she would inevitably get. I used to like this name when I was little. I have since replaced it on my list with new finds over the years, but I still like it and would love to meet a little girl named [name]Liberty[/name].

[name]Sebastian[/name] – I love it, but a lot of people I’ve talked to about it told me it sounded childish. I don’t think so, but I thought you might like to know. I think it sound adventurous and [name]Bastian[/name] is a great nickname.
[name]Jude[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it, but I know it’s getting sort of popular. I love the Beatles so that’s why I love it.
[name]Nathaniel[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name]! I wanted to use this but my husband was kind of like “meh” so we had to put it aside. I think it’s so distinguished and makes me think of [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Hawthorne[/name].
[name]Vivienne[/name] – I love [name]Vivian[/name], but with this spelling not this one you like. I find [name]Vivienne[/name] to be overly frilly for no reason at all and can’t for the life of me figure out what’s wrong with the original spelling. I love [name]Vivian[/name] though. It’s very pretty and soft.
[name]Liberty[/name] – this one I don’t like. It’s a little much as a first name to me, but I think it’s make a cool middle name.

I love [name]Vivienne[/name]. I also really like [name]Jude[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name], & [name]Nathaniel[/name]. I’m not a fan of [name]Liberty[/name]. As to Alzora, [name]Sebastian[/name] is and has been in the top 200, it was ranked number 68 in 2011 and since at least {didn’t go any further back} 2000 it’s been in the top 100. [name]Just[/name] a little fact!

[name]Sebastian[/name] - I’m always surprised by its popularity. To me, it’s a fussy, priggish sort of name. I don’t like it at all.

[name]Jude[/name] - I really like it. It’s short and powerful, but has a sort of gentleness.

[name]Nathaniel[/name] - Wonderful name. I like everything about it. It was a top contender when I named my own son, and I still love it enough that I can’t quite take it off my lists, even though using it would give me two N names.

[name]Vivienne[/name] - My least favorite spelling of an otherwise much-loved name (I’m a [name]Vivien[/name] girl; [name]Vivian[/name] is my second choice) for a few reasons. For one, I think the spelling is needlessly elaborate. Two, it’s too celebrity flavored for my tastes. Three, and most important, I don’t pronounce it the same as [name]Vivian[/name] and [name]Vivien[/name]…and I like the pronunciation of [name]Vivian[/name]/[name]Vivien[/name]. With [name]Vivienne[/name], the emphasis is moved to the final syllable.

[name]Liberty[/name] - Not my style. [name]IRL[/name], I’ve only seen [name]Liberty[/name] used by some scary ultra-right wing families, so it has more of a political undertone to me than similar names like [name]Clarity[/name] or [name]Verity[/name].

[name]Sebastian[/name] - All I see is a red singing crab
[name]Jude[/name] - It reminds me of Hey [name]Jude[/name], and I never liked it for that
[name]Nathaniel[/name] - love this, but I always hated the nn [name]Nate[/name] and [name]Nathan[/name] which are inevitable with
[name]Vivienne[/name] - like
[name]Liberty[/name] - I don’t like this one, it sounds too American, patriotic

[name]Sebastian[/name], isn’t my favorite name, but I think [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Jude[/name] makes a good combo.

I love [name]Jude[/name] on it’s own, or as a nn for [name]Judah[/name], this is a definite keeper!

[name]Nathaniel[/name], also not my favorite name, mostly by association. I dislike [name]Nathan[/name], but I like [name]Nate[/name].

[name]Vivienne[/name] is really pretty and I love the nn [name]Vivi[/name] Vee-vee

I don’t like [name]Liberty[/name] at all.

[name]Sebastian[/name]- I like this. Not enough to use it, but it doese have charm.
[name]Jude[/name]- Like [name]Jude[/name] alot. But the mounting popularity worries me.
[name]Nathaniel[/name]- Ooh! Really like [name]Nathaniel[/name]. It’s so handsome.
[name]Vivienne[/name]- Really dislike this spelling, it’s way too fru-fru to me. [name]Vivien[/name] is a spelling I love.
[name]Liberty[/name]- Never cared for [name]Liberty[/name]. [name]Just[/name] not my style.

[name]Hope[/name] that helps ease your confusion!

[name]Sebastian[/name] - I too see the appeal, but I also think of the crab from The [name]Little[/name] Mermaid. : / I think on the right person, [name]Sebastian[/name] could be masculine and sophisticated. On the wrong person, [name]Sebastian[/name] could be goofy.

[name]Jude[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]. To me, [name]Jude[/name] is masculine, rugged, and… I don’t know, inherently appealing. I dislike that [name]Jude[/name] is getting so popular, and that some girls have been given the name [name]Jude[/name]. : /

[name]Nathaniel[/name] - I somewhat like [name]Nathaniel[/name], but not very much.

[name]Vivienne[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]! Beautiful, exotic, and alluring.

[name]Liberty[/name] - Completely dislike.

I absolutely love [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Jude[/name], really like [name]Vivienne[/name], dislike [name]Liberty[/name], and strongly dislike [name]Nathaniel[/name].

I strongly dislike [name]Sebastian[/name]. I just don’t think it sounds nice. I like [name]Vivienne[/name], but I love [name]Viviana[/name]. I like [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name], although I really dislike [name]Nate[/name] and [name]Nathan[/name]. [name]Nathaniel[/name] would make a good middle name, in my opinion. [name]Jude[/name] too. I’ve heard of two Judes in real life, but that’s it. I don’t think its too popular where I am at. I used to love [name]Liberty[/name]/nickname [name]Libby[/name] when I was younger. I wouldn’t use it now, but I think it still has some appeal to me.

[name]Sebastian[/name]: never likes this name. Too prissy and reminds me of the [name]Little[/name] Mermaid crab and sebaceous glands (ew).
[name]Jude[/name]: I like it! Sounds manly yet boyish all at the same time.
[name]Nathaniel[/name]: not really a fan of [name]Nathaniel[/name] itself, but love the nn [name]Nate[/name]!
[name]Vivienne[/name]: love the name, but prefer the [name]Vivian[/name] spelling - less princessy.
[name]Liberty[/name]: eh, not my style. I do really like the nn [name]Libby[/name] though.

[name]Sebastian[/name] - I don’t care for it for 2 reasons: 1. No really good nicknames for this long name 2. I will always think of the crab off the Disney version of ‘The [name]Little[/name] Mermaid’

[name]Jude[/name] - It’s okay…I like some other J boy names ([name]Jeremiah[/name], [name]Josiah[/name], [name]Jonah[/name]) way better! But it is better than [name]Jason[/name], [name]Justin[/name], [name]John[/name], [name]Joe[/name]/[name]Joey[/name] and some other super common boy J names. Plus, if you don’t like The Beatles (or don’t want others to associate it with the song all the time) then I wouldn’t use it.

[name]Nathaniel[/name] - I’ve never cared for this name…just too boring for me really! And I don’t really like [name]Nat[/name] or [name]Nathan[/name] as nicknames.

[name]Vivienne[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t care for it…mainly because of the double vi sound…doesn’t really flow off the tongue very well in my opinion.

[name]Liberty[/name] - I like it as a middle name if she was born in [name]July[/name]!

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]- I think this is cute AND distinguished.
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]- [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is cute. But maybe too cute? Like I can’t really picture someone having that name when they’re 40.
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]- I like this. It’s handsome and works for any age. [name_m]Nate[/name_m] when he’s little, [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] when he’s older and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is very distinguished.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]- I think this name is gorgeous.
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]- I really, really don’t like virtue names. They’re too easy to mess with.

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] - I love this one. Not so much that I would ever use it myself, but I do love it. It has a darker feel, which I find attractive in a name. Bass is also a super cute nickname. The only [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] I’ve ever “met” was a baby in the Walmart bathroom.

[name_u]Jude[/name_u] - I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. He has been on my list for years now, usually as a nickname for something. For a good four years [name_m]Julian[/name_m] “[name_u]Jude[/name_u]” was my number one name. Right now, I’m playing with the idea of [name_m]Judah[/name_m] or [name_m]Justus[/name_m], but [name_u]Jude[/name_u] has remained. I think he’s flawless.

[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] - [name_f]My[/name_f] relationship with him is interesting. I used to hate him, then I loved him, now I simply like him, I think. I know several people named [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] ranging from five to 25, so I would say it has longterm wearability. I do love [name_m]Nate[/name_m], though I prefer [name_u]Tate[/name_u].

[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - I adore her, as well. Her charm, spunk and vintage feel are unparalleled. [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] is one of my favorite nicknames for a little girl, as well.

[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] - She is on my guilty pleasure list and has been for as long as I can remember. I met a little girl in San [name_m]Diego[/name_m] over [name_f]Spring[/name_f] Break named [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], which was nice. I think I’ll keep her as a GP, though.

I like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] is okay, and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is not really my style.

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]- This is my all time favourite boys name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]- I think its cute, but not my style
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]- I’ve always had a soft spot for this name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nn [name_m]Nate[/name_m]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]-This is my favourite spelling of this name. Very beautiful
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]-Its not my style, but love the nn [name_f]Libby[/name_f]
