I love this name, and we are expecting our 3rd boy (4th baby). [name_f]My[/name_f] husband never liked it for our daughter, but I am wondering about it on boys. Our other kids are :
so we like celtic names mainly. [name_f]My[/name_f] question is do you think [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] is more of a girl or boy name? I have a son named [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] (pron: [name_u]Reese[/name_u]) so I dont care too much about names that girls use too, just curious about others input.
Thanks!
I think it’s much, much, much better on a boy. It would go really well with [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], and [name_f]Eva[/name_f], too–I say go for it!
[name_u]Sloan[/name_u] isn’t my style but I think it goes well with the other boys with Celtic names. I find the name to have a masculine sound so it’s more suitable for a boy.
There’s a male [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] that I sorta know. In the book Eragon, [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] is a male character. I think it’s unusual enough to work on either sex. I say go for it!
I don’t like [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] anyway but I really don’t like it with your sibset. [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] are such lovely first name names, that to then have a random surname in the mix seems a bit off kilter.
I like [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] for a boy. The only time I have ever heard someone called [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] was my friend [name_m]Johnathon[/name_m] [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] who went by his last name [name_u]Sloan[/name_u]. So for me I can only see it on a boy and I like it on a boy!! I also like it with your sib set!
I never understood why [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] became exclusively feminine in ANYONE’s eyes. It’s totally fine on a boy, and won’t be confusing in your sibset because your daughter’s name is unquestionably female.
I dislike [name_u]Sloan[/name_u]. I dont like the sound, but mainly because I just think “[name_u]Sloan[/name_u] ranger”. I dont think it goes well in your lovely sibset. However, I do find it slightly more palatable as a boy name.
But only slightly!
