Sloan or Sloane?

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are circling around the name [name_u]Sloan[/name_u]/[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] for a little girl and have a disagreement on the spelling. I say it’s [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] and he says [name_u]Sloan[/name_u].

Any perspective? I’ve always seen [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] as an “alternative” form of [name_u]Sloane[/name_u].

[name_u]Sloan[/name_u] from Entourage…

we’re stuck!

I vote [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] - cause [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_m]Peterson[/name_m] to me was the original!

[name_u]Sloan[/name_u] is usually the boys spelling and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] the girls version. While the name isn’t my style, I think it looks better with an “e”.

I would go with [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. That’s how the girl I know spells it, and it does look more feminine and finished than [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] to me.

I prefer the [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] spelling.

[name_u]Sloan[/name_u] is the original spelling for boys, but since you’d be using it for a girl, I’d use [name_u]Sloane[/name_u].
