I know [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] seems pretty feminine to a lot of people, but it’s both my grandfather and my uncle’s middle name, presumably from a surname further back, and I’ve been toying with the idea of it as a first name for a boy for a few days. What do you think? Would it work for a boy now?
As for middle names, I’ve been thinking about [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m], which comes from my surname. Have you got any other middle name suggestions?
I quite like [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] for a boy. It has a versatile sound, plus a family connection! It reminds me a bit of [name_u]Jem[/name_u] from your signature
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] is nice
Personally, I am not a fan of unisex names. I would pick a more unambiguous boy name. You could still consider it as a middle since it has that family connection.
I agree that [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] seems more masculine to me, too. Unfortunately, I can’t help but think of the baddie on Alias, but it is a great name and a cool family name, and I like [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] a lot!
I think in Pop culture a lot more have been girls, in particular, the [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] that comes to mind is the Raise Your Voice movie one. Although I have always deemed it unisex. I can see a boy named it and a girl. [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] doesn’t scream a gender for me. I think you should use it! Especially if it has meaning. Meaning trumps almost everything! And I really like [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m]. Almost has a Shakespearian vibe to it.
