Maybe there’s already a way to do this, and if so, I’d love someone to enlighten me. Otherwise, I’d see it as an improvement to the boards.
I’d like to always be able to see the original post on a thread while I’m replying to the thread. If I read through a thread to the second or subsequent pages, start to reply, then want to refer to the op, it’s a hassle. [name]Even[/name] in advanced mode, if the thread is too long, the op isn’t available…
I just type on the first page of replies and keep scrolling up and down.
I do that or if I’m quoting someone further back I tend to just open a second tab or window in my browser.
It’s a pain to have to switch back and forth but it works best.
You could always have separate windows/tabs open for the OP and reply pages if nothing else works.
Click on the button with the turning arrow in that faintly grey band below each post that says “reply”. Obviously do it for the post you want to reply to, which may be the original post or a previous post.
Yes…that’s what I do…good to know I’m not missing anything else.
For it to work it needs to be in linear mode, and you have to have the quick reply box at the bottom.
