Smith

I have long loved the name [name]Smith[/name] as first but I go back and forth as to whether I would actually ever use it. What do you think - is [name]Smith[/name] usable? The combo I a considering is [name]Smith[/name] [name]Everett[/name].

bump… anyone??

Personally I think it’s too plain. Sorry!

don’t be sorry  I asked!

anyone else think it could work as a first or is it too odd considering how many people have it as a last name?

Well i grew up in a small town where tons of families shared that as a surname, so that’s almost all i can see it as  however, i was an aid in the middle school last year and there was a boy’s first name was actually [name]Smith[/name]. I thought it was a cool name, and different to see it in the fn slot…unfortunately, his full name was along the lines of [name]Smith[/name] [name]Weston[/name] [name]Farris[/name]…sounds so much like a lawfirm or a funeral home, which i felt took away from the coolness of having [name]Smith[/name] as a first name.

I personally wouldn’t use it for my own child but i don’t think there’s anything wrong with it…I’d call it usable…and i don’t think there is much teasing potential for it either, which is a plus. [name]Smith[/name] [name]Everett[/name] is a great name

I don’t think it’s unusable, and [name]Smith[/name] [name]Everett[/name] doesn’t sound bad, I just think it sounds so plain and boring.

I think [name]Smith[/name] is an excellent boys name. I think it’s a string classic last name that sounds fresh as a first name.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I am really liking [name]Smith[/name]. I liked it awhile ago then dismissed it as too plain/out-there all at once but it has grown on me again and I am seriously considering it

I like it!

I think its such a fresh first name choice!

I like it. Particularly [name]Smith[/name] [name]Everett[/name]. [name]Smith[/name] was the main character in a book I read set in Victorian [name]London[/name] - a savvy streetwise boy.

Not a fan at all. I’m probably dating myself but I think of [name]Smith[/name] [name]Jerrod[/name].

lol, that’s ok, [name]Smith[/name] [name]Jerrod[/name] was hot!

bump for any more feedback

I like [name]Smith[/name] as a first name, it’s simple but it’s cool. Plus I think it’s familiarity as a surname is an advantage, it makes it very familiar but completely unexpected as a given name.

I quite like it. I would be very charmed if a man I found attractive had that name. As for people who think it’s plain, try knowing a sea of Mikes, Jons and Matts your age. I swear, almost every single guy.

I personally don’t like it. It’s seems a little bland. [name]Everett[/name] is a cute first name.

I would consider it unusable. [name]Even[/name] as a surname it is bland and boring. It would cause a lot of confusion.

Maybe I’d like [name]Smith[/name] more as a first name if it weren’t so common as a last name.

Have you ever considered [name]North[/name]? It’s very similar, but it manages to feel more like a first name, at least to me.

[name]Smith[/name] is okay as a first name. It might cause a little confusion. However, I would never be able to handle the nickname, [name]Smitty[/name], and I don’t think it would be avoidable.
