I feel like it’s a great way to use something less than ideal like Lucs on a girl or trendy [name]Jaiden[/name]…but would you be confused if you met any of the above? [name]How[/name] much explaining would be involved?
I quite like this idea and have been playing around with a few myself, although I personally don’t think there’s ever an acceptable excuse for [name]Jaiden[/name]
I don’t think it’d be too hard to explain, especially if it was a fairly self explanatory smoosh like your [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Vincent[/name] where the letters are all already present.
I don’t particularly care for this and would probably be a little confused by it, but it’s not like I’d refuse to call the kid by the nickname, even if I didn’t get where it came from.
We’re doing this with our baby, born in [name]September[/name]. His name is [name]John[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], nn [name]Jax[/name]. Some people don’t get it at all and continuously call him [name]Jackson[/name], in spite of corrections, some get a weird look on their face and obviously don’t get it but just go with it, but the people who are closer friends and family hear it and say: “oh, that’s cool” or “that’s a great nickname” or “J A X?”. In the future this may be a way to find kindred spirits when meeting new people.
With your combos above, I think it works best with sounds that are found in both names, rather than just letters found in both. For example, [name]Alvin[/name], Row or renrose’ examples of [name]Joby[/name] & [name]Jory[/name]. The others are a bit of a stretch for me. It’s fun to play the game of trying different names together to make new nicknames though!
Hmmm, I think it could work, and I’m all for going with your favorite nn’s. But I feel that they should have a bit more relation to the name itself. Those nn’s you picked would have me a little confused as to where they came from. On the other hand if you only use the nn’s then I can see every one of them working. It just depends on how you want to go about it. Gl!
It’s awesome to find someone who has done it! I think [name]Jax[/name] for [name]John[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is great! I like it so much more than [name]Jaxon[/name] or [name]Jax[/name] as a first name cause [name]John[/name] is just so much more classic!
