We had been seriously considering using [name]George[/name] if our baby is a boy. Now that the little prince is [name]George[/name], we definitely don’t want to use it, especially because I’m due in a couple weeks and people will, I’m sure, still be buzzing about that. The rest of our list is below, [name]Timothy[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] being our top two at the moment. Opinions? Please keep in mind that older brothers will be [name]Francis[/name] “[name]Frankie[/name]”, [name]Henry[/name] “[name]Huck[/name]” and [name]Philip[/name] “[name]Flip[/name]”. We have a few middle name options that will depend on which first name we choose, but we’re thinking about [name]Lyle[/name], [name]Florian[/name] and [name]Alexei[/name].
[name]Timothy[/name] “Otter” (I know the nickname is a stretch, but we love both names)
[name]Charles[/name] “[name]Chaz[/name]”
[name]Winston[/name] “[name]Win[/name]”
[name]August[/name] “[name]Gus[/name]”
[name]Patrick[/name] “[name]Paddy[/name]”
My instinct with the other siblings’ names is [name]Charles[/name], but honestly any of your choices do work.
As far as nicknames, though, I like Otter and [name]Paddy[/name] best with [name]Frankie[/name], [name]Huck[/name] and [name]Flip[/name].
Totally objectively, not considering the other children’s names (since they are, in the end, individuals and not a “set”), my favorites are [name]August[/name] and [name]Patrick[/name].
I will comment again since I commented on the other thread. I love the middles by the way. I am not sure which middle goes with what name or what you were planning but I like:
[name]August[/name]- I am just a lover of this name. And I feel any of the middle names you have will make it a swoon worthy combo.
[name]Timothy[/name]- I do not think any nick name is far fetch [name]IMO[/name]. I kind of like Otter or even [name]Otto[/name]. And [name]Timothy[/name] is a strong solid name.
[name]Charles[/name] “[name]Chaz[/name]”- This one would be last. I really dislike the nn [name]Chaz[/name] it is up there with [name]Brad[/name] for me. It just makes me cringe but that is just my opinion. And I just like [name]Timothy[/name] and [name]August[/name] better.
I vote for [name]Charles[/name] or [name]Timothy[/name]! And, no I don’t think that Otter is too far a stretch for the name [name]Timothy[/name]. Many of the nickname’s people call me have absolutely nothing to do with my name, you can nickname your child whatever you choose.
I’m so sad that [name]George[/name] was the name. And [name]ITA[/name] that if you don’t want that association you should just look elsewhere - unless you were super attached, in which case, I’m sure people would forget about it after a while, and since it was on your list earlier…
I [name]LOVE[/name] your other boys’ names. THey are adorable. My favorite of your list is [name]Patrick[/name], I adore that name. And so cute. I also love love [name]LOVE[/name] the NN [name]Gus[/name], but [name]August[/name] seems more formal than your other boys’ full names somehow. [name]Charles[/name]/[name]Chaz[/name] would be cute too.
I love all the names. Seriously. We had many of them on our list –
Plus, if you are still open to new ones, [name]Isaac[/name] nn [name]Ike[/name].
We were probably going to call him [name]Geo[/name] (gee-oh). I’ve always loved the nn but never wanted to use [name]Giovanni[/name] (or something similar), so when I realized it could potentially work for [name]George[/name] I was so excited! We weren’t completely sold on it, though, so I’m not too devastated.
I had the same concern about [name]August[/name]… It just didn’t seem to fit (though [name]Gus[/name] fit perfectly!). I had thought of [name]Isaac[/name] “[name]Ike[/name]” before and suggested it to my husband, who immediately shot it down… Argh! Thanks so much for the help!
My brother is [name]Patrick[/name] and goes by [name]Paddy[/name] and Patch – I love both nicknames. I actually love all of your choices! [name]Timothy[/name] isn’t my favorite, but Otter is such a cute nickname! I like [name]Winston[/name] best with [name]Francis[/name], [name]Henry[/name], and [name]Philip[/name] (all two-syllables, all have different endings), but I like [name]Gus[/name] best with [name]Frankie[/name], [name]Huck[/name], and [name]Flip[/name].
I like [name]Patrick[/name] the most with your other boys names, but the only problem is I feel it’s a little similar to [name]Philip[/name]. So I would go with [name]Charles[/name].
We have a little [name]Timothy[/name] right now and I think it is adorable and strong. Otter is a nice nickname; we call our [name]Timothy[/name] ‘[name]Bear[/name]’
I like [name]Patrick[/name] the best but it’s totally my personal preference.
I think [name]Patrick[/name], [name]Charles[/name] or [name]Timothy[/name] go best with your other sons’ names. [name]Winston[/name] and [name]August[/name] being a little more old fashion.
Oh I [name]LOVE[/name] your name choices and the nn’s are so adorable!!! My favorites with [name]Francis[/name], [name]Henry[/name], and [name]Philip[/name] would be [name]Winston[/name] or [name]Charles[/name]. Either would be destined for the sibset. However, I totally adore Otter as a nn for [name]Timothy[/name].
Oh, I’m with you [name]George[/name] is out! I also just see this classic making a resurgance now that the little prince will make a great name-sake.
[name]Timothy[/name] “Otter” - Oh I think Otter as a nn for [name]Timothy[/name] is darling and a great alternative to [name]Timmy[/name]. [name]Way[/name] to go! That said [name]Timothy[/name] is probably my least favorite on your current list. I do like [name]Timothy[/name] [name]George[/name] or [name]Timothy[/name] [name]Lyle[/name].
[name]Charles[/name] “[name]Chaz[/name]” - [name]Love[/name] [name]Charles[/name], dislike [name]Chaz[/name]. I actually really like [name]Chuck[/name] but totally get how that would be weird with [name]Huck[/name]. Is [name]Charlie[/name] to obvious? I think adding a [name]Charles[/name]/[name]Charlie[/name] to your bunch would be rather charming. [name]Charles[/name] [name]Timothy[/name] or [name]Charles[/name] [name]Alexei[/name].
[name]Winston[/name] “[name]Win[/name]” - My absolute favorite fn/nn option. (Though not my favorite name). I particularly like Winson [name]Alexei[/name].
[name]August[/name] “[name]Gus[/name]” - I adore [name]August[/name], it’s just off my top 10 boys names and would actually be on there if I didn’t have such an overwhelming A list. I find Auggie as a nn charming, fun and spunky. The only good association I have with [name]Gus[/name] is [name]Burton[/name] “[name]Gus[/name]” Guster from Psych. This would be my top choice if it weren’t for your nn pick. [name]August[/name] [name]Lyle[/name] or [name]August[/name] [name]Patrick[/name] are pretty darn smoking.
[name]Patrick[/name] “[name]Paddy[/name]” - I’d probably avoid the dashing [name]Patrick[/name] as you already have a [name]Philip[/name] and it would be the first time repeating a letter. Not that this would usually sway me from a great name but… your list has so many other fantastic options I’m grasping for any criteria to help me choose my favorite. [name]Patrick[/name] [name]Alexei[/name] (though this feels a bit like [name]IRA[/name] meets Russian Mob) and [name]Patrick[/name] [name]Charles[/name].
[name]Edgar[/name] “[name]Eddy[/name]” - What about [name]Edgar[/name]? I saw him on your signature but not on your list. He is a little quirky but would work well with [name]Francis[/name]. [name]Edgar[/name] [name]Florian[/name] would be pretty handsome, don’t you think? [name]Edgar[/name] [name]Lyle[/name]?
Oh man, you have such an amazing list that I can’t decide. I do know that [name]Timothy[/name] is in last-place for me. I adore [name]Charles[/name], [name]Winston[/name], [name]August[/name] and [name]Patrick[/name]. You can’t go wrong. If push came to shove, I would love go with [name]Paddy[/name], [name]Gus[/name], [name]Win[/name] then [name]Chaz[/name]…but they are all awesome.
