So.. how about this combo?

Still struggling to find the right combo to go with ‘[name]Rin[/name]’ - but have thought a bit about these combos:

[name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
[name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] [name]Lux[/name]
[name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] [name]Rose[/name] (<- dunno about this one because it repeats two names with R-. Does it work?)

WDYT? Do they flow ‘ok’?

(OH vetoed Mairin/Marin - altho I have some hopes for Meirin, which would be pronounced May-rin. It isn’t made up, just rare. But pretty sure OH just wants Rin)

[name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] [name]Snow[/name] definitely flows the best. I like [name]Rin[/name] actually, what is the significance of it? What does it mean? I like [name]Ren[/name] and [name]Wren[/name] a lot too so maybe I’m drawn to those types of names.

[name]Rin[/name] is Japanese and depending on which kanto you use it can mean either cold, severe, dignified or bell! In Japanese it’s pronounsed [name]Lin[/name], but we’re going for the english pronunciation!

Oh very pretty. The combo seems a little cold to me, Cold/severe - [name]Night[/name] rain - [name]Snow[/name]. It’s something only a name nerd would get though, still a pretty combo.

Depends how you translate it like I said - you could translate it as Dignified or [name]Bell[/name] (as in church bell). But yea, like you say it’s something only a night nerd would get and I have to admit, I don’t care too much about name meaning as long as it isn’t something really horrible like Satan or Devil worshipper :o

But I am finding [name]Rin[/name] very hard to partner with a name my partner will agree to! He is very picky - He likes [name]Amaya[/name], but I’m not sure if [name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] flows - which is why I tried adding a third name, but … urgh… why must my man be so difficult!? :stuck_out_tongue: + With only [name]Amaya[/name] the initial would be [name]RAM[/name] and I’m not too sure about that :stuck_out_tongue:

I like [name]Amaya[/name] by itself too, but it depends on your last name. With two middles, you have to remember, the second middle will get dropped and/or ignored by most official agencies, etc. So she will most likely be called by [name]Rin[/name] A. (Last Name) I’ve noticed most official paperwork only asks for Middle initial anyway, which is lame.

That’s true.

[name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] [name]Snow[/name] is lovely!

I think that sounds great, personally.

I like [name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] [name]Rose[/name] best and I quite like the double ‘r’ thing. [name]Snow[/name] would be my second choice.

My favorite is [name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. The alliteration of the ‘R’s’ really draws you into the name and makes it sound more…thought out almost. Also, both [name]Rin[/name] and [name]Amaya[/name] are fairly unique picks but [name]Rose[/name] us a well know, stabilized name that keeps the name as a whole more grounded. I hope this helps and you and your husband find the perfect name.

I think my favorite would be [name]Rin[/name] [name]Amaya[/name] [name]Miller[/name], full stop. I don’t see the need for a third name-- especially when it’s an everyday word-- when you’ve selected two very pretty, deeply meaningful other names.

Thank you very much for all your opinions! It’s so nice to be able to hear it from others point of view.

The idea behind the third name was as a balancer - also because both our sons have fairly long middlenames ([name]Alexander[/name] & [name]Theodore[/name]) so [name]Amaya[/name] some how felt very short. Somehow [name]Amaya[/name] felt/feels a little bit abrupt when I compare it to [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] who round up the boys names very well.

Uh it’s tough, isn’t it?!
