I live in the Midwest U.S., & I just learned tonight of yet another [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] in my circle of people. Dh’s cousin has a son called [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (about five years old.) And then I have a friend from college who has a little girl called [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (about three years old.) And the newest [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is a friend who had one about six months ago. Plus, I know of an acquaintance who has a son called [name_u]Junot[/name_u]. [name_m]Can[/name_m] you believe how popular it is getting?!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] thought you guys would be interested.
Yes, that’s very interesting! I only know one little girl named [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], and I think she’s around 6 or 7. The name seemed very unusual at that time.
Oooh, a boy [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]?! I LOVE that!
Seriously though, I’ve noticed a huge increase of them in my area! A couple handfuls! The oldest one I know is 4 or 5 now and the youngest is maybe a month old. I noticed the same think happen with [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. It went from underused vintage gem to pop culture darling seemingly overnight.
oh no! not trying to hate on anyone but seriously I hate [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] it makes me think of my great-grandmother (named [name_u]June[/name_u]) who was almost a demon.
I’m honestly not that surprised. A lot of millennials/older [name_f]Gen[/name_f] Zers grew up with the [name_f]Junie[/name_f] B. [name_m]Jones[/name_m] series so I think we’ve been primed for the name!
I live in CA, US and I’ve surprisingly never met a [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]! I find this surprising because people from [name_u]California[/name_u] tend to choose some interesting names that lean towards the unique/unheard of side. Not saying that [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] falls into that category, just saying it seems like a name that would be more popular here.
I’ve never heard or seen this name used in my offline life. But I’m in small town [name_f]Alabama[/name_f] where [name_u]River[/name_u] is the #1 nature name choice.
I’ve met one [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]–I knew her when she was a baby, and she must be 8 or 9 now! I remember thinking at the time that her name was kind of “out there”; not in a bad way, but just that it seemed bold and unique. Now, it feels much more mainstream and I love it! I feel like it fits right in with the current love for quirky, offbeat nature names, so I’m not surprised that it’s getting more popular. I particularly love the rhythm of it as a middle, although it’s clearly perfectly usable as a first!
Not a fan of [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]…and [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_f]Maple[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], and most tree names. Let the trees have their own names!
I know a little [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], about four years old. She sometimes goes by [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. I like the name a lot but I do hope it doesn’t continue to rise too quickly because [name_u]June[/name_u] is my favorite name and I’d rather not have a class full of little Junes and Junipers.
I live in the pnw and it’s a pretty popular name here too, I know at least 3, who almost all go by [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Junie[/name_f]. But tree names in general are a pretty big trend here. For girls in my state [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_u]Aspen[/name_u] & [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] are all in the top 100 and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] for the boys
Ahhh I just love [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]! I’m a bit sad to hear it’s getting so popular. I’m also in Midwest USA and I’ve never met one, though I’m not around little kids very often.
