So, I’ve been a bit inactive, but I’ve had a fair share of problems and commitments for a while…
Anyways, I just finished reading the manga book, Witch & [name_m]Wizard[/name_m], and I’m feeling like I have to write something like that now. Going a little crazy. I have basic concepts for characters right now, but I could use some ideas.
So they’re a brother sister team, the brother is serious, studious, and enigmatic, he’s a study bug, and in general doesn’t care much for being around people. Has no friends except for his sister, but that doesn’t bother him and even then he and his sister don’t have much in common but share a special kind of bond since they are siblings. I’m thinking a traditional name, but not to serious because when a child is born you can never tell what they’re going to be like when they’re older and that should apply to your characters. You shouldn’t base the name completely off of the stereotype. As far as looks go, I think he’s going to be blond with green eyes, kinda tall and lean, he’s seventeen, but that’s all I’ve come up with for him.
The sister is a daredevil and a proud trickster, she’s usually stuck in detention but as soon as she’s out she’ll be causing mischief. She never really does anything serious, and pretty much the worst she’s done is skip class. But she’s actually a very good student. I liked how in Witch & [name_m]Wizard[/name_m] they gave the tough, spunky bad girl a name like [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] and turned it into the cute but fun nickname Wisty. I kind of want to do the same thing, like give her an unexpected but still good name, but instead of giving her a cute nickname I want to give her a cool/modern one. She’s gold golden-brown hair and green eyes, and she’s almost fifteen.
As for the story, I know that one minute they think they’re normal until someone tells them they’re not. An idea is that they live in what they think is a regular society, until they spend the night at a new friend’s mysteriously empty house and official-looking people storm into the room in the middle of the night and their friends (a guy and a girl) manage to escape with them and explain that they are actually a sorcerer and a sorceress and they befriended the siblings because they also possess magical powers. A secret society which secretly controls their government is working to destroy everyone with those powers. In the past, they killed off all of the sorcerers and sorceresses, but their offspring remained and they became a secret organization filled completely with children with special powers. Their friends are a part of that organization, and after helping them hone their powers a tiny bit they invite them to join the organization as well. Somehow the protagonists’ parent’s get killed, then appear in a dream to them and confirm the whispers going around the organization that they are more powerful than normal. Also, the sister finds a way into Netherworld and falls in love with one of it’s residents. The brother falls in love with the female out of the two friends they made. Basically it will just be their struggle to overthrow the secret society that wants to wipe them out for good.
That’s probably going to be the story, but if you’ve got any suggestions - about the plot, the characters, the names, anything - Please let me know about them!

I chose [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] for the brother, because I liked the idea of the sister having a nickname for him that he doesn’t like (which would be [name_u]Nick[/name_u]) but later comes to embrace it. I was actually originally considering the nn to be [name_f]Liv[/name_f] when I first got the idea, but with [name_f]Livana[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Livia[/name_f], but I decided it wasn’t right so I chose the name [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], still similar but with the nn [name_u]Vinni[/name_u] because I liked how it sounded cute but kind of masculine and cool at the same time. If you did have any suggestions for the friends, I would love to hear them!
The girl is really sweet but still kind of tough, but since she has some trouble with using magic, [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] (who catches on to magic fairly quickly due to some studying) tutors her and that’s kind of how things start between them… So far in my mind she has brown eyes and black hair dyed purple at the ends, and I wanted to give her an elegant, hipster sort of name. But somehow the name [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] jumps to mind…
The brother is funny and rough and tumble, almost always with dirt on his face and constantly pulling pranks. He gets along with [name_u]Vinni[/name_u] very well and flirts with her a little, but she friendzones him, at first because he’s two years younger and she doesn’t want to be a with guy younger than her, but after a while he starts flirting with her again, and this time she friendzones him because she secretly fell in love with the spirit boy. He’s really nice and has trouble taking things seriously sometimes. He’s constantly trying to prove to his sister (the other friend) that he can handle himself, but since he’s constantly joking around she doubts him. He has messy dark brown hair and brown eyes and usually wears a red and white cap. Pretty much any names goes, but I was thinking the same kind of structure of a name as [name_u]Vinni[/name_u]'s… I was thinking maybe [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] with the nn [name_m]Tim[/name_m]?
