And it ended up being [name]Sylvana[/name]. We pronounce it sil-vah-nah
I loved it anyway and he loved it too. It means “from the forest” and would honor my connection to [name]Pan[/name].
So 2 Questions:
What do you think of [name]Sylvana[/name] (thoughts, images you get, whatever)?
Thoughts on middle names? [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] ___ [name]Thomas[/name]. Xiomara is pronounced zee-oh-mar-ah. We’d like it to be Norwegian/Icelandic/Norse/Swedish…from that part of the world in general because my husband has a connection, but it’s not a must have.
We like:
[name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] [name]Freya[/name] – [name]Goddess[/name] of love and beauty
[name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist – but i’m worried about the T at the end of Mist and beginning of [name]Thomas[/name] but since it’s a second middle, should I care as much? – Mist is the name of a Valkyrie.
[name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Idunn/[name]Idunna[/name] – ih-doon/doona – The goddess of spring guarded golden apples, capable of giving eternal youth to anyone who ate them.
[name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] [name]Eir[/name] – pronounced ire – A goddess of healing and medicine, her name means mercy
or we could keep Xiomara Eisa from the Cassandra combo and have Sylvana Xiomara Eisa. pronounced eye-sah from what I know.
Obviously we don’t mind the multiple A endings so if you can think of anything we haven’t then feel free to suggest.
[name]Sylvana[/name] is so beautiful!! [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Idunn is my personal favorite, I like the sound and flow a lot but really they’re all lovely.
[name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] [name]Freya[/name] – My favorite! I simply adore [name]Freya[/name].
[name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist – I wouldn’t worry much about the two T’s together. Her full name wouldn’t be said very often and it doesn’t sound bad when I say it out loud.
[name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Idunn/[name]Idunna[/name] – I really like this. I wasn’t expecting to, but I love the way it sounds. I prefer Idunn of the two because it has a stronger sound to it.
[name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] [name]Eir[/name] – I have trouble saying [name]Xiomara[/name] and [name]Eir[/name] together. It feels odd when I say the combo.
I love [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name]! I’m not sure for the second MN, I think I like like the look of [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] [name]Eir[/name] the best, but I think [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist might be easier to say. I like that [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] [name]Freya[/name] would be a bit more “namey” in feel, though–when I see [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist, all I can think of is [name]Sierra[/name] Mist. ha. Would you consider [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Freya[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name]? I think that flows a bit better.
I like [name]Sylvana[/name] a lot [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] is cute. I think you need a one syllable second middle for balance. I’m going to vote for [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist for that reason. Other ideas:
I adore it, I have a co-worker named [name]Silvana[/name]. I find the name to be lovely. She’s also a very great person imo. And it’s funny because our supervisors surname is [name]Thomas[/name]!
I like [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Eisa a lot, I’m sad to see [name]Cassandra[/name] go though. [name]Xiomara[/name] [name]Freya[/name] is nice as well.
[name]Sylvana[/name] is a great name with the nn [name]Sylvie[/name]. As for [name]Xiomara[/name] in the middle, it’s funny because i pronounce her completely differently. For me, “xio” is pronounced as “sho”, so [name]Xiomara[/name] would sound more like sho-mara. I think this pronunciation ends up making for a softer flowing name.
Thanks for all the responses. I do like [name]Vedis[/name] but it’s my husbands decision so we’ll see ^^ Thanks for the suggestions indianruby. i’m already using [name]Saga[/name] in one combo but I do think it sounds nice here ^^ I also like [name]Sol[/name] but isn’t that a boys name?
[name]Ash[/name], I’ll talk it over with my husband about switching the names around and see what he has to say.
Vivtaliesin – I’ve never heard [name]Xiomara[/name] pronounced that way. I’ll have to look and see how wide spread it is. It does have a lovely sound that way too so if it’s more commonly pronounced that way then it won’t be a big deal
[name]Cassandra[/name]'s might not be gone for good, who knows? I’m keeping it on the long list
My aunt’s name is [name]Silvana[/name], and she is one of the best people in the world, so loving and down to earth. And the BEST cook. [name]Silvana[/name] [name]Guinevere[/name] was on my list until my mom strongly vetoed it (there’s competition between them) but to me, that is the most beautiful combo in the world. [name]Feel[/name] free if you like it! I see [name]Guinevere[/name]'s already on your list.
Dantea - I thought it was, but when I typed in Norse goddesses she came up as the goddess of sun or something who also goes by Sunna. I don’t really know anything about Norse mythology except the obvious, so I don’t know how true it is. I just thought the flow was good haha.
OK, after a quick google I found that Sól was the sun goddess in Norse mythology and [name]Sol[/name] was a solar diety in ancient [name]Roman[/name] religion.
