[name]Eilidh[/name] is Gaelic and means sun or radiant one. It’s pronounced Ay-lee. Thoughts?? 
[name]How[/name] about just spelling it Aylie or Aylee? That will eliminate pronounciation problems but will still have lots of [name]Hailey[/name] confusion. However, it’s a lovely name.
I absolutely adore [name]Eilidh[/name]! It’s the Scottish form of my sister’s MN, so it’s quite significant to me, but I just love everything about it. Out of all the -ailey names ([name]Haley[/name], [name]Bailey[/name], [name]Kaylee[/name], etc.), [name]Eilidh[/name] is definitely my favorite and it completely stands out from the crowd, imo. It’s so light and lilting and airy, and I would love to meet an [name]Eilidh[/name].
I do think the pronunciation could be a problem (which is why I would probably only ever use it as a MN, if I used it at all), but I wouldn’t sacrifice the beautiful spelling for better readability. People will eventually pick up on it. 
I do think it’s a difficult name to work with, though–people are starting to get the more common Gaelic names, even with the unintuitive pronunciations, but [name]Eilidh[/name] isn’t very well known, so I think it’ll pose quite a few problems. Still, I adore it… it would be so hard for me to give it up, haha. I have considered [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Eilidh[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eilidh[/name] in the past–I think having a familiar first name for it helps.

I think it’s beautiful and I love the traditional spelling but it would obviously cause some kind of pronunciation difficulties! Once people are corrected then it would be fine, but she might spend a lot of time doing so.

I like it! I’m not sure why I like it, because I don’t like the [name]Hailey[/name]-[name]Miley[/name]-[name]Ayla[/name] names but [name]Eilidh[/name] is pretty.
