I posted it once here before and got all negative feedback. I also have it in my poll (below) and NO [name]ONE[/name] gave it a thumbs up!:
Be completely honest, but what is it you don’t personally like about the name [name]Kyleigh[/name]? (no worries, I’m going to use it anyway, but just curious!)
Hmm, [name]Kyleigh[/name]. I don’t know, I guess it’s the -leigh thing. I quite like [name]Kylie[/name], although it seems a bit… dated maybe? I just feel like there are a lot of little teens hanging around chain smoking in their white tights named [name]Kylie[/name].
Ok, I’ll be honest. Remember I’m rating the name not attacking you personally. I don’t like it for a number of reasons…
1 I’m not really a big fan of most “K” names.
2 I’m not a fan of the spelling Kyleigh instead of Kylie or Kiley. It just looks like a trendy/teen mom name with a kre8tif spelling.
3 I don’t see the point in misspelling names to make them more “unique” or “feminized”.
4 The Kayla/Kylie/Kaylee/Kyla names have been done to death so I don’t find them very interesting.
5 The name sounds cutesy and I don’t think it ages well. The spelling makes it even more “childish”. Children spend most of their lives as adults so they should be given a names that “sounds” mature.
P.S. I think Talia Claire is the best name on your girls list. I just noticed that all of your boys names are spelled correctly but you’re using Kyleigh, Saige and Kamdyn for a girl. I think your daughter deserves the same consideration as your boy does. I don’t have a problem with Alaine because that’s your mn if I’m not mistaken. Just my honest opinion.
In all honesty, I’m just not a fan of the name in general, even when spelled [name]Kylie[/name]. It’s rather dated here in Australia, and although that doesn’t stop me liking a name, I’ve just never been a big fan of [name]Kyleigh[/name]/[name]Kiley[/name]/[name]Kylie[/name].
I’ve never cared for the [name]Leigh[/name] spelling. My middle name is [name]Leigh[/name], but it looks weird to me even though it has been my name for 25 years. The English language tells us that most words spelt this way (weigh, neighbor) are pronounced with the long a sound. So it looks more like Kylay to me than [name]Kylie[/name].
[name]Kylie[/name] is more likable, but I still don’t care for it. I generally dislike names with the long i sound in the middle (with the exception of [name]Violet[/name]).
thanks for being honest So mostly it seems like the spelling people don’t like then…I don’t like it spelled [name]Kylie[/name] because it reminds me of [name]Kylie[/name] Monogue or [name]Kylie[/name] Jenner.
I happen to love “K” names so it fits for me…but I appreciate everyones input about it!!
It just seems too trendy and it just has no appeal in my opinion. [name]Kylie[/name] however, is okay, it’s a much better spelling. I noted a lot of your other names are misspellings/trendy spellings, and those overall don’t go well on here.
[name]Kyleigh[/name] also makes me want to say [name]Kai[/name]-lay, and I don’t like that.
I don’t like the -leigh suffix for some reason. I read it like “[name]Kyle[/name] and the word sigh smushed together”. That’s just me though, I’m really not into trendy spellings.
I agree with a point [name]Mischa[/name] made. the name does not age well. I cant imagine a 30 something [name]Kyleigh[/name]. Then again I am all out longer names with great NN potential.
It’s the spelling that kills it for me. I like [name]Kylie[/name] just fine, but spelling it [name]Kyleigh[/name] drops it a lot. [name]Kylie[/name]'s also very little girl/teenish. I don’t take it seriously. I like it, but I don’t take it seriously.
I’d rather [name]Kyla[/name] over [name]Kylie[/name].
My ex best friend is named [name]Kylie[/name], so I do have a bone to pick with her, but I think it is a lovely name. [name]Kyleigh[/name] looks ‘kri8tyv’. Of course, that might not be the case. My current best friend is named [name]Kaleigh[/name], and her name is a combination of her mother’s ([name]Karen[/name]) and her father’s ([name]Lee[/name]) name.
If you don’t like the spelling [name]Kylie[/name], [name]Kiley[/name] is up for grabs, and isn’t as nearly as popular as [name]Kylie[/name].
Also, the whole K name with an ‘l’ in it is so way overdone. I’m glad I wasn’t a [name]Kayla[/name]/[name]Kylie[/name]/[name]Kaitlin[/name]/[name]Kaylin[/name]/[name]Kaylee[/name] because I have a hearing disorder. Think about how confusing and annoying it would be for a [name]Kyleigh[/name] if she had hearing problems, with all of the Rileys and Brylees and Baileys and Kaileys.
Looking at your list, I do like [name]Saige[/name], but [name]Kamdyn[/name] is just… If a boys’ name needs to be changed in order for it to become feminine, IT SHOULD STAY [name]MALE[/name]. [name]Talia[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is my favorite on your list.
I just dont like the leigh part of it. If it was just [name]Kylie[/name] it would be okay. However, I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Talia[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
I [name]ADORE[/name] [name]Kylie[/name], but [name]Kyleigh[/name] seems unbearable to me. [name]Just[/name] stick to [name]Kylie[/name]. It’s so much more beautiful.
It’s mainly the spellings I have a problem with. I’m not a fan of trendy spelling changes at all. I saw from your previous post that you don’t like taking common names and changing the spellings (like [name]Ashley[/name] to [name]Ashleigh[/name]), so it sort of surprises me that you like [name]Kyleigh[/name]–although I do have my spelling changes that I like, too ([name]Claira[/name] over [name]Clara[/name]–but only on certain days!–[name]Hayley[/name] over [name]Haley[/name]/[name]Hailey[/name], etc.), but in the end I wouldn’t use them, as I wouldn’t want to cause my child any extra issues with her name. It’s of course just an opinion, it’s not my call whether you use [name]Kylie[/name] or [name]Kyleigh[/name]. Again, with [name]Alaine[/name], I like [name]Elaine[/name] more, and since I remember that both [name]Elaine[/name] and [name]Alaine[/name] have been used in your family, I would lean toward [name]Elaine[/name], but that’s just me.
I actually love your choice, I know the most adorable little girl named [name]Kylee[/name] (again, I would have loved it so much more if it was [name]Kylie[/name]! It’s definitely not just your spelling), bright, mischievous blue eyes, gorgeous dark brown hair, this scalawag grin that lights up the room, and a heart of gold… The Kylies (and other spellings) I’ve known have all been wonderful girls, so I expect your [name]Kyleigh[/name] to be just as adorable and wonderful, it’s just the spelling that gets me. But [name]Kylie[/name] [name]Elaine[/name]/[name]Kyleigh[/name] [name]Alaine[/name] is a lovely name.
