Sofira?

What do you think of Sofira? Is Sophira better? Is it too weird? Have you heard it before?

I’ve never heard it before, but I like that it looks like it has the word “fire” in Sofira!

I have seen it mentioned here. I adore [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] but not fond of Sofira. I am not fond of the sound or look. It looks like it might have been a typo. Sorry.

Reminds me of the name Semira in Underworld Blood Wars.

Sofira, I want to like it, but find I have difficulty saying the name. Are you pronouncing it like [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f]? Because if so that spelling would be way more intuitive.

I prefer the Sophira spelling. Either way, I think it would be often mistaken for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].

I agree, you’d spend a lot of time explaining that it’s not [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. And I second the suggestion of [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f]/[name_f]Safira[/name_f]- it’s a small change, but it’d make a big difference in how often it’s misspelled/mispronounced.

It reminds me of [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f]/[name_f]Safira[/name_f], which I think are lovely (and so much more interesting than [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]). I like those better than Sofira, just because they’re a bit more established and less [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]-ish.

It reminds me of [name_f]Ophira[/name_f]/[name_f]Ofira[/name_f], a Hebrew name. It’s attractive, but is it made-up?

I like the suggestions of [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f], or [name_f]Zephyra[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f] is another way to get to “[name_f]Sophie[/name_f].”

I think its pretty but could be mispronounced

I’ve never heard it before. It’s like you try to combine [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] with [name_f]Safira[/name_f]. It’s not bad, but not my taste.
