Juliet ( dd also has an “Ette” ending name though)

Tessa ( safe choice/too nicknamey/boring?)

Delilah ( get the song in my head but pretty name!)

Cecily ( gorgeous, too out there, sounds like sicily??)

Matilda ( nn Tilly is cute, charming name, a bit clunky)

Johanna ( Jo HAH Nuh…love but worry bout pronunciation/sound dated?)

Mae Louisa “Maisie” ( long time fav of mine and dh)

Louisa ( possibly a bit hard to say)

Cecilia ( also possibly hard to say?)

Eloise (gaining in popularity)

Sadie ( adore, too nicknamey?)

Alessandra nn Aless (but we aren’t European, hmmm)

I really like [name]Lydia[/name] and I’m surprised that more people don’t use. I also like [name]Alessandra[/name] quite a bit; it’s on my name list.

I like [name]Lydia[/name] too. It’s not boring at all. I also like [name]Felicity[/name] and [name]Isadora[/name]. [name]Beatrix[/name] is cute but I don’t find it soft and pretty. I love [name]Juliet[/name] but it would be too matchy with your dd’s name.

[name]Louisa[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] are soft & beautiful but they aren’t wishy washy & I think they age well.

[name]Tessa[/name] - I love this name, it is a bit nicknamey, but you could always use [name]Esther[/name] nn [name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Alessandra[/name] nn Aless - I think this is a nice option. I’ve never heard of Aless being used. That’s lovely
[name]Felicity[/name] - very pretty, is Filly too weird for you, I think it’s charming
[name]Delilah[/name] - pretty, but I prefer others
[name]Cecilia[/name] - I prefer [name]Cecily[/name] as it’s easier to say

[name]Louisa[/name] - not my favorite, it’s a bit too much like loose, lousy, etc.
[name]Eloise[/name] - okay, similar problems to [name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] - it’s not boring, it is a bit more familiar and regular though, not as frilly as your other choices
[name]Sadie[/name] - beautiful name, but it is nicknamey and starts with sad.

Thanks so much! Agree, lydia is great but lacks the bit of frill I’m looking for. [name]Cecily[/name] is fantastic!! [name]Love[/name] [name]Emily[/name] but too popular. This is a great alternative and easy to say for me, unlike [name]Cecilia[/name], right? Does it sound like [name]Sicily[/name]? Too out there? Vintage? Also added [name]Matilda[/name]. And glad u also like [name]Beatrix[/name]! Oh and I think fee and CeCe or fee and liss/Lissy would make nice nn’s for felicity.

[name]Tessa[/name]- I don’t care for this as a given name.
[name]Delilah[/name]- pretty, but I can’t get past the negative Biblical connotation.
[name]Cecily[/name]- this is a gorgeous under-used name! Might have spelling issues, but it’s lovely.
[name]Matilda[/name]- too old-fashioned for me, but it’s definitely usable.
[name]Louisa[/name]- I love this name! [name]Lulu[/name] or [name]Lu[/name] as nicknames would be adorable.
[name]Cecilia[/name]- A classic name that sounds so fresh; I love it.

[name]Juliet[/name]- This name is so pretty, stunning and classic. I love the reference to [name]Shakespeare[/name] and is overall a beautiful name.

[name]Tessa[/name]- My best friend growing up was [name]Tessa[/name]. Therefore, I have always loved the name. She was fun, pretty, and a little crazy.

[name]Delilah[/name]- I agree that it is pretty. The song is starting to get played alot more on the radio I noticed. I think this name will sky rocket in popularity.

[name]Cecily[/name]- I think this sounds plain and boring, sorry.

[name]Matilda[/name]- I’m not big on nicknames, but think this name alone is very charming.

[name]Louisa[/name]- reminds me of portuguese sausages. Knew a [name]Louisa[/name] though, very nice girl.

[name]Cecilia[/name]- Not hard to say, just old lady sounding.

[name]Eloise[/name]- Very pretty. I don’t think it is as popular as everyone thinks. It seems like the berries alone are in love with this name. Atleast all my “normal non-name lover” friends don’t like this name.

[name]Alessandra[/name] nn Aless- Very pretty. I prefer [name]Alexandra[/name].

[name]Dahlia[/name]- To me this sounds like a snobby girl’s name. Thank Suburbatory for that.

[name]Felicity[/name]- Why have a nickname, when the name itself is gorgeous?!!

[name]Beatrix[/name]- This name always sounded harsh to me. It sounds like the name of a woman who works in the meat grinding business (not to offend anyone).

[name]Matilda[/name] - There’s so much to do with [name]Matilda[/name]! [name]Tilly[/name] is one of my favorite nicknames, but if she doesn’t like it, it can always be [name]Mattie[/name]. Or even [name]Tildy[/name], which is super unique.

[name]Louisa[/name] - Gorgeous and underused! I want to see this name more. [name]Lou[/name] is a great nn.

[name]Cecilia[/name] - This name brings the film/book “Atonement” to mind which is not a bad thing. Makes the name rather glamorous.

[name]Eloise[/name] - So pretty and not heard very often.

[name]Sadie[/name] - Brings to mind a Beatles song.

[name]Lydia[/name] - Not boring at all! Again, an underused gem.

[name]Felicity[/name] - Not every name needs a nickname!

[name]Delilah[/name] - I like this one…but there are a lot of …lil… names out there at the moment.

[name]Matilda[/name] - I go back and forth with this one myself, it’s on my list, then it’s off. I like it, but don’t like [name]Tilly[/name] or [name]Matty[/name] or [name]Tilda[/name], unfortunately. I [name]DO[/name] love how distinctive it is - familiar yet uncommon.

[name]Louisa[/name] - so so lovely, feminine and classical, without being over-done.

[name]Cecilia[/name] - silly me [name]Cecilia[/name] is already on your list! Well, between this and [name]Cecily[/name], I prefer this. I love that nn potential too…Cece, [name]Celia[/name], [name]Lia[/name] etc…

[name]Eloise[/name] - I prefer [name]Louisa[/name], but [name]Eloise[/name] is nice too.

[name]Sadie[/name] - spunky and cute! It can totally stand along But I don’t like how it starts with Sad :frowning: What about [name]Maisie[/name]? [name]Maggie[/name]? [name]Shelby[/name]? [name]Sally[/name]? [name]Lucy[/name]? if you like nicknamey names.

[name]Dahlia[/name] - I can’t decide if I like this or [name]Delilah[/name] better…hmmm…both are very nice, I [name]DO[/name] like how this is botanical.

[name]Lydia[/name] - classical and lovely, I like it, but the “lid” sound keeps me from loving. Picky, I know.

[name]Felicity[/name] - [name]ADORE[/name]! New addition to my list, and one of my top contenders at the moment. I like it as-is, but nicknames…[name]Elle[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], Lissy, [name]Lissa[/name]…

[name]Beatrix[/name] - GORGEOUS, sassy, mysterious and fun. I love [name]Beatrice[/name] too, and nn [name]Bea[/name] is the height of cuteness.

You have a FABULOUS list!! If I listed my favourites, you’d have a reproduction of nearly your entire list. You really can’t go wrong with any of these choices, and with so many distinct options, you’ll definitely be able to pick one that suits.

Actually, I find all of your names trendy, classic, popular.

Out of them I would go with: (in order from best to least)

[name]Delilah[/name] ( get the song in my head but pretty name!) - Pretty, But I start singing “hey there delilah”. I would think that will pass.
[name]Sadie[/name] ( adore, too nicknamey?) - I think this is lovely, a grown woman can carry [name]Sadie[/name].
[name]Alessandra[/name] nn Aless (but we aren’t European, hmmm)) - has a nice exotic flow to it.

My favorite from your list is [name]Sadie[/name]! I don’t think it’s too nicknamey! I think its sweet, cute, and spunky. I also see it growing into an adult. I really like [name]Louisa[/name] too. [name]Louise[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name] are so pretty and vintage to me. I taught a very smart and sweet little girl named [name]Louisa[/name] and loved that name since.
The other name that caught my eye on your list is [name]Eloise[/name]. I want to love this name because it appeals to so many people. I even love the books. I just don’t think I would ever use it on my own child. Maybe I am more in love with the idea of [name]Eloise[/name], if that makes sense.
