Solace?

I met a girl through my boarding school program named Solace. I was so surprised by her name that I asked her to repeat and spell it, before realizing that it was basically like the word. Solace: comfort or consolation in a time of distress or sadness.
You guys like it?

I love Solace! It is one of my ultimate GPs. My mom has a student in her class named Solace this year and I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the name (and the girl is a cutie ;)).

Solace is strangely appealing in all its pure hippie awesomeness form. A little too out there for me personally to use, but I think it’s a great name.

The weirdest part was, she was a first generation [name_u]West[/name_u] African-American (like myself) and [name_u]West[/name_u] Africans tend to stick with classics like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. And here I thought my name ([name_u]Skylar[/name_u]) was daring for an African!

Solace is nice, but a bit hippyish for my taste. I prefer [name_f]Solange[/name_f], [name_f]Solenne[/name_f] or [name_f]Soleil[/name_f].

It’s cute. I met a little girl named [name_u]Harper[/name_u] Solace, which is now a huge guilty pleasure of mine…don’t think I could ever use it!

I like Solace, but I (much) prefer [name_f]Soleil[/name_f].

I like the feel of it, but I think [name_f]Solenne[/name_f] is more my style. Cute name though!

I love Solace, but it’s a bit too pagan for me.

[name_f]Solana[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful.

I used it in a novel. I have a thing for virtue names anyway and it feels like a modern take on that. I liked Solitaire when I was younger but it seems too tied to the card game now, plus the meaning is far less appealing.

I actually know a boy named Solace and his parents are African as well–not sure where from.
It’s a cool name, though I do prefer it on a girl.
