We are looking for a name for [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Henry[/name]'s little brother. It’s previously been on our short list but kind of faded away for us, for no particular reason. Then my mum asks me whether we’d thought of [name]Solomon[/name] as it was my great-grandfather’s name and he fought in WW1.
Now I wonder if I should rethink it. Does it work with [name]Theo[/name]? Would [name]Sol[/name] work as a nickname, as I feel [name]Solomon[/name] would be a mouthful? Also, our surname ends with ‘on’ and is 2 syllables so perhaps it’s not the best fit.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Solomon[/name]. It’s on my long list of names that I would use if I had 20 kids. It sounds great with [name]Theodore[/name], and people would get used to hearing it with your last name so that even if it sounded clunky at first, it would become familiar and rhythmic after a while. [name]Just[/name] not a fan of [name]Sol[/name] for short. Monny? Mon-ster? Lol…I don’t know what to say for a nickname, but when I see [name]Sol[/name], I think of the Spanish pronunciation (pronounced like we say “soul” in English), because “sol” is the Spanish word for sun.
I love [name]Solomon[/name]! I think it pairs well with [name]Theodore[/name]. [name]Solomon[/name] is not a mouthful to me.

i really like [name]Solomon[/name] and think it sounds great with [name]Theodore[/name]. The only little [name]Solomon[/name] I’ve met was called [name]Solly[/name], which I thought was really cute.
[name]Solomon[/name] is on our short list too! We love the meaning behind it. It’s not too much of a mouthful-- I’ve been trying it out while driving in the car alone! But [name]Solly[/name] would work for a baby and [name]Sol[/name] for a nickname. I also thought of [name]Salmon[/name] as a really silly nickname for a little one but don’t know how appealing that would be to others. I think I would end up calling him [name]Solomon[/name].
