So I’ve been kicking around some of my favorite girl combos (of course ignoring what DH would say at this point since we’re not pregnant yet, I don’t have to worry about it yet)
Here are my top five favorites. I’d love to hear opinions or other suggestions.
By the way, our last name starts with S and ends in -er.
[name]Ellen[/name] is my favorite aunt who I’d love to honor with a middle name. [name]Juliana[/name] is a combo from my two best friends, [name]Julie[/name] and [name]Tiana[/name].
I love [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Juliana[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Joanna[/name]! [name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] are nice, but something seems off with the flow… maybe it’s just me. [name]Kendra[/name] is too dated and trendy.
Great suggestions. [name]Charlotte[/name] Juilana is wonderful, I’m putting it on the list. I love [name]Phaedra[/name] and [name]Eleni[/name], but I have no chance of convincing DH that they’re not “wacko” names. [name]Katrina[/name] has always been a favorite, but I’m afraid people would associate it with the hurricane.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Juliana[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]? Since those are the names that honour people special to you. I think it would have a better flow if [name]Juliana[/name] was pronounced [name]AH[/name]-NAH at the end rather than [name]ANNA[/name]. Your other name ideas sound great but I wouldn’t go with [name]Kendra[/name], just me but it reminds me of [name]Hank[/name] Baskett’s wife.
I have seriously considered it. Two problems, though. First, I have a close friend named [name]Julie[/name], a co-teacher named [name]Julie[/name], and a boss named [name]Julia[/name]…it would feel like overkill to add another similar name to my life. Second, I [name]LOVE[/name] pronounced [name]Juli[/name]-[name]AH[/name]-a, but I’d be afraid of it being mispronounced all the time.
Thanks!
Does everyone think [name]Kendra[/name] is too trendy? I might have to take it off my list…
[name]Kendra[/name] just feels very, very different from the other names on your list. I guess I think of it as a name like [name]Tiffany[/name] or [name]Amber[/name] (very 1980s), and the polar opposite of classic/vintage names like [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], and [name]Cora[/name].
To me, [name]Kendra[/name] just doesn’t share the elegance of the other names on your list. (That’s just me, though.)
I think [name]Juliana[/name] would make a great first name.
Maybe [name]Juliana[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] or [name]Juliana[/name] [name]Elaine[/name]
Sorry for any repeats.
[name]Kendra[/name] does feel a bit dated. I’m not sure who mentioned it but there is a [name]Kendra[/name] with her own show on t.v., married to some athlete. I don’t watch it but see commercials and my mind first thinks of her.

[name]Kendall[/name]
[name]Andrea[/name]
[name]Ariana[/name]
[name]Andrina[/name]
[name]Adriana[/name]
[name]Kinsley[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] isn’t one of my favorites but I know many people here like it.
[name]How[/name] about-
[name]Lilac[/name]
[name]Zera[/name], [name]Zara[/name] or [name]Zora[/name]
[name]Daisy[/name] - you still get the “z” sound.
[name]Maisie[/name] - ditto
[name]Azalea[/name]
[name]Acacia[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] is really growing on me, I love the nn [name]Charlie[/name].
[name]How[/name] about -
[name]Charlize[/name]
[name]Charla[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Sabrina[/name] - I’ve found for personal reasons this a good name to get the nn [name]Bri[/name]. I feels like [name]Bianca[/name] to me which I like better. Actually [name]Sabrina[/name] and [name]Bianca[/name] feel like the could be sisters.

[name]Bianca[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] nn [name]Bri[/name]
[name]Brynn[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name]
[name]Tabitha[/name] nn [name]Tabby[/name]/[name]Tabi[/name] or [name]Tibbie[/name]/[name]Tibby[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] - I love [name]Cora[/name] or [name]Cara[/name] or [name]Kira[/name]/[name]Keira[/name] (my daughter)
[name]How[/name] about -
[name]Cordelia[/name] nn [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Corina[/name] - kind of a [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Sabrina[/name] mix.
[name]Corina[/name] is nice! I’m adding that to the list. I’ve always loved [name]Tabitha[/name], but having a [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Tabitha[/name] would be too matchy for me.
What does everyone thing of [name]Halina[/name]? According to nameberry it’s a variation on [name]Ellen[/name]/[name]Helen[/name].
[name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Tobias[/name] would be to close. I’ve never seen [name]Halina[/name], it looks a little made up to me. Maybe that’s just me. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Helena[/name] pronounced heh-lay-nah, there it is another pronunciation of [name]Helena[/name] but the above is my favorite.
We are naming our daughter [name]Halina[/name] pronounced [name]Hal[/name]-ee-nah. We found the name on a site that says it is of Polish/Russian/Eastern European origin and means “calm and tranquil.” Her nickname will be [name]Hali[/name] pronounced [name]Hal[/name]-ee. The derivation that is part of [name]Helen[/name] is of Greek/[name]Roman[/name] origin.
I think you have some great names here! I like all of your first name options, except I’m not all that fond of the name [name]Hazel[/name]. My very favorite name from your list is [name]Charlotte[/name]! I’m not crazy about the name [name]Joanna[/name] as a middle name, but I think [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Juliana[/name] is absolutely gorgeous!! [name]Sabrina[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] are also such pretty names! And I think [name]Kendra[/name] is a cute name, and don’t find it dated at all. I know a [name]Kendra[/name] who is about a year old now, and when she was born a lot of people really liked her name.
