[name]Do[/name] you prefer [name]Bay[/name] or [name]Fay[/name]? I love them both but could of course only ever use one of them.
Would [name]Amabel[/name] cause too many problems? [name]Just[/name] worried that she’ll always have to tell people ‘It’s [name]AMABEL[/name], not [name]Annabel[/name]’
[name]Cyan[/name] or [name]Cyane[/name]?
[name]Amandine[/name] - Pretty, but would probably get ‘[name]Amanda[/name]?’ almost always.
[name]Cyan[/name] - I prefer [name]Cyane[/name].
[name]Elaine[/name] - I like it. dated, but pretty. What about [name]Elaina[/name] or [name]Elena[/name]?
[name]Fay[/name] - I like the spelling [name]Faye[/name] better. [name]Bay[/name] is also nice.
[name]Elodie[/name] - SO lovely, very French sounding.
[name]Kayley[/name] - A bit too trendy and popular.
[name]Hadley[/name] - Same as [name]Kayley[/name].
[name]Juliet[/name] - Gorgeous, really, I love it.
[name]Aquinnah[/name] - Are you saying this ‘aqua-nah’? I’m not sure. I also thought it said ‘Aniqua’
[name]Keeley[/name] - Same as [name]Kayley[/name]/[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Maine[/name] - Not my style, but usable.
[name]Amabel[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this. I think you would definitely have some problems, though which is a shame.
[name]Ronia[/name] - Very unusual, but sounds familiar. I like it.
[name]Lyra[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it. Is rising in popularity, though.
No, I’m pronouncing it ah-KWINN-a (middle part sounds like [name]Quinn[/name]) and I’d use [name]Quinn[/name] as a nickname. I like [name]Elena[/name] pronounced like [name]Elaina[/name]. I love the way [name]Elaina[/name] sounds but prefer the look of [name]Elena[/name]
From your list I love [name]Elaine[/name], but prefer [name]Elena[/name]. [name]Elaine[/name] is a nice mn choice.
[name]Faye[/name] is my fave for the mn spot right now! [name]Bay[/name] is too boyish. [name]Fay[/name] is a lovely vintage name.
[name]Elodie[/name] is adorable, but I don’t think I would use it.
[name]Juliet[/name] is lovely! A classic! No problems there.
[name]Aquinnah[/name]! I forget to mention that one to someone that liked [name]Quinn[/name]. I love [name]Aquinnah[/name]! It’s very pretty! A great way to the nn [name]Quinn[/name]! [name]Michael[/name] J. [name]Fox[/name] has a daughter with this name. It isn’t too weird and people may have heard it before.
[name]Keeley[/name] is great! I know a grown up [name]Keely[/name]! It’s refreshing!
[name]Lyra[/name] is awesome! I loved His Dark Materials trilogy!
[name]Amandine[/name], [name]Cyan[/name], [name]Maine[/name] and [name]Ronia[/name] are a bit odd. [name]Kayley[/name], [name]Hadley[/name] and [name]Amabel[/name] are not my style, but I don’t think you would have any trouble with [name]Kayley[/name] or [name]Hadley[/name] as they seem to be well known and well liked. [name]Amabel[/name] could be confused with [name]Annabel[/name], yes…
[name]One[/name] name you might like: [name]Ciel[/name]
[name]Amandine[/name] - Sounds a bit aquatic, I could like it!
[name]Cyan[/name] - far too boyish, I can’t register this as a boy’s name in my brain…
[name]Elaine[/name] - a somewhat underappreciated classic name, without being too classic.
[name]Fay[/name] - I prefer the [name]Faye[/name] spelling just because this one looks incomplete to me. Definitely one of my go-to middle names though. [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Bay[/name], to be honest.
[name]Elodie[/name] - a bit flighty sounding… not sure why.
[name]Kayley[/name] - too trendy for my tastes
[name]Hadley[/name] - (see [name]Kayley[/name])
[name]Juliet[/name] - all I can picture is a damsel in distress.
[name]Aquinnah[/name] - not sure about this one, not really my style I guess.
[name]Keeley[/name] - I know one who spells her name Kealie. Had it not been for her and [name]Keely[/name] [name]Smith[/name], I would really not like this name, passing it off as another trendy one.
[name]Maine[/name] - Usually I find overly geographic names downmarket, but this one seems kind of snooty… not a fan.
[name]Amabel[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it! Can’t say you’d have too much difficulty with it though
[name]Ronia[/name] - a little too made-up sounding for me. (very possible it isn’t made-up, I don’t know…)
[name]Lyra[/name] - not keen on the “lie” sound…
[name]Amandine[/name]- It’s nice. I wouldn’t use it, but I like it for someone else’s child.
[name]Cyan[/name]- Too colorful for me.
[name]Elaine[/name]- I like [name]Elaine[/name]. It’s a little dated, but I still think it’s nice, especially with cute nickname [name]Lainey[/name].
[name]Fay[/name]- A little short, but I really like it.
[name]Elodie[/name]- Stunning.
[name]Kayley[/name]- Very trendy and young for my taste.
[name]Hadley[/name]- Of the two-syllable “ley” enders, this is probably my favorite. I think [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Richardson[/name], [name]Ernest[/name] [name]Hemingway[/name]'s first wife, gives it a bit more credibility. It’s very trendy sounding still, but I don’t dislike it as much as [name]Kayley[/name] or [name]Hailey[/name] or [name]Bailey[/name] or [name]Keeley[/name].
[name]Juliet[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name].
[name]Aquinnah[/name]- fascinating, but a little impractical. I could see it being very confusing for people.
[name]Keeley[/name]- I like the meaning Nameberry gives, but I suspect that it’s inaccurate. This really seems like a modern invented name that will be dated very shortly. It blends with [name]Kylie[/name]/[name]Kaylee[/name]/[name]Hailey[/name]/[name]Bailey[/name]/[name]Hadley[/name]/[name]Presley[/name] etc.
[name]Maine[/name]- No.
[name]Amabel[/name]- Beautiful! [name]One[/name] of my personal favorite names.
[name]Ronia[/name]- Meh. I like [name]Sonia[/name] more, but neither really stand out to me.
[name]Lyra[/name]- I’ve known several Lyras who say their name [name]LEE[/name]-ra, like the Italian Lira. I love that pronunciation, but after research I’m pretty sure it’s wrong, unless there’s something I’m missing. Like valkyrie, I’m not too keen on the long I sound for girls- I don’t like [name]Myra[/name], [name]Lyla[/name], or [name]Isla[/name] either.
[name]Do[/name] you prefer [name]Bay[/name] or [name]Fay[/name]? I love them both but could of course only ever use one of them.- It’s close, but I think [name]Fay[/name] by the tiniest bit. It could change tomorrow, though. [name]Both[/name] are a bit short for my taste, though I do like them.
Would [name]Amabel[/name] cause too many problems? [name]Just[/name] worried that she’ll always have to tell people ‘It’s [name]AMABEL[/name], not [name]Annabel[/name]’- I use different vowel sounds at the beginning of each name. The first syllable of [name]Amabel[/name] sort of sounds like the beginning of “almond” but with no l, and [name]Annabel[/name] starts with “[name]Ann[/name]” the way I say them. I’d expect a little bit of confusion, but I think [name]Amabel[/name] is nice enough that it’s worth it.
[name]Cyan[/name] or [name]Cyane[/name]?- [name]Cyan[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t respell this name- it’s also a word, and that just seems illiterate to me.
[name]Keeley[/name] is definitely not made up. [name]Cyane[/name] is not a misspelled word but the name of a Greek nymph, also spelled Kyane (see wikipedia).
[name]Ciel[/name] sounds nice but it’s a masculine French word so I’m not sure about it.
Thanks for your answers so far would love to read more opinions.
I like [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Ronia[/name] the best. [name]Ronia[/name] reminds me of the Polish name [name]Bronia[/name], which I always thought was really pretty.
[name]Amandine[/name] - I don’t really like this one.
[name]Cyan[/name] - This is alright. I like this spelling better than [name]Cyane[/name]
[name]Elaine[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]. probably because it sounds like one of my favourite names - [name]Lorraine[/name].
[name]Fay[/name] - I prefer [name]BAY[/name]! <3 I find Bay has a better meaning. I wouldn’t want my name to mean fairy.
Elodie - Beautiful.
Kayley -Too popular and trendy.
Hadley - Too popular and trendy.
Juliet - Beautiful
Aquinnah - Dislike.
Keeley - Very Pretty
Maine - boyish to me.
Amabel - Very Cute I don’t think there is a problem with having to correct people once in a while.
Ronia - no.
Lyra - its ok.
My favourites are Bay, Juliet, Elaine, Amabel, Keeley and Elodie - in that order.
