Some new names we like.. WDYT?

Me & Hubs went through some baby name websites together today while Senia was sleeping and we found some names that we’re going to consider. I’m wondering what y’all think of them!

Hespera - I really like this, my DH is a nickname person and likes the nicknames [name]Perrie[/name]/[name]Peri[/name] and [name]Essie[/name] for it. [name]Do[/name] they work? I like [name]Essie[/name] but I’m not keen on [name]Perrie[/name]/[name]Peri[/name]. I’m also thinking that it sounds similar to Senia…

[name]Calanthe[/name] - This one is pretty, too. It’s my DH’s favourite, he liked the NN [name]Callie[/name] for it.

Admeta - I’m not sure about this one, I feel that it will get the nickname [name]Addie[/name] all of the time which feels pretty trendy to me.

[name]Iole[/name] - EYE-OH-[name]LEE[/name] I like it but worried about pronunciation issues.

Caspera - Again, with Hespera, I’m worried it sounds too similar to Senia.

[name]Nyx[/name] - Too short and nicknamey? Also, Senia’s nickname is [name]Nia[/name] and [name]Nyx[/name] feels too matchy to it for me so we might use it in the middle.

Anyway, what do you all think of them? I’m having trouble finding names that dont have any cons, I seem to be able to point out bad things in every single name that we’re considering :frowning:

Thanks in advance!

The NNs for Hespera seem logical to me and Hespera should be fine when paired with Senia. I agree with your opinion of Admeta and [name]Iole[/name] and prefer Hespera over Caspera. [name]Nyx[/name] doesn’t really seem like a FN to me and reminds me of ixnay and pig latin, but it could be simply because it’s not my style. [name]Calanthe[/name] with NN [name]Callie[/name] is my favorite.

A thought: since you like both [name]Iole[/name] and [name]Calanthe[/name], have you considered [name]Iolanthe[/name]?

I too prefer Hespera over Caspera! I dislike the nickname [name]Cassie[/name] so that’s probably why.

Ooooh, [name]Iolanthe[/name] is beautiful! [name]Will[/name] ask DH if he likes it.

Thanks!

If it helps, I have heard two distinct pronunciations: eye-oh-LAN-thee and yo-LAN-thuh.
