Expecting our third boy in Dec. [name]Just[/name] wanting some feedback on [name]Penn[/name] as a first name. Our two other boys are named [name]Hudson[/name] [name]Paul[/name] and [name]Knox[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. We were having a hard time coming up with a third name and I’ve really been having a feeling about [name]Penn[/name] lately. Wondering what are people’s first impressions when they hear “[name]Penn[/name]” on a little boy. Would also like some middle name possibilites…we are thinking [name]Penn[/name] [name]Ryan[/name] right now.
[name]Penn[/name] reminds of me of [name]Penn[/name] State (a college) so you might get a lot of associations with that… Also it reminds me the writing utensil: a [name]Pen[/name].
Maybe as a nickname, but not sure if I like it as a name, it seems like it’s not complete…
I love [name]Penn[/name]. We really considered it for our boy and it’s the one I hope I don’t regret using. With all the little [name]Finn[/name]'s running around, [name]Penn[/name] is refreshing. We worried we would end up calling him Pig [name]Pen[/name], but we love [name]Charlie[/name] [name]Brown[/name] around here!
I first heard it from the actor [name]Penn[/name] Badgley a few years ago and thought it was nice. Not my style, but I’d love to meet one in real life.
I like it. My only association is [name]Penn[/name] the magician as I’ve never met one in real life. I agree with kkwily on [name]Penn[/name] being refreshing with all the Finns out there.
I like it! Strong but not harsh, unusual but not unheard of, and goes wonderfully with [name]Hudson[/name] and [name]Knox[/name]. I think you’ve got a winner!
I like [name]Penn[/name]
Perhaps more as a nickname for [name]Penrose[/name] and Pendry/Penry, but just [name]Penn[/name] is quite wonderful as well ^^
I absolutely love [name]Penn[/name]! Like if I was a rock star or maybe just a little more daring I would absolutely name my child Pendragon and call him [name]Penn[/name] lol. [name]Robert[/name] [name]Penn[/name] [name]Warren[/name] and [name]Penn[/name] [name]Jillette[/name] are very cool bearers of this name and it fits amazingly with your other boys names. [name]Penn[/name] [name]Ryan[/name] is nice, although I think a longer middle like [name]Penn[/name] [name]Gabriel[/name] or [name]Penn[/name] [name]Campbell[/name] would be nice (depending on how it flows with your last name).
I love [name]Penn[/name]! We considered it strongly for our younger son but quite frankly, simply chickened out. But i often regret it, especially now that [name]Penn[/name] Badgley has officially made it cool and attractive. I think it goes great with your other boys’ names. I’d stick just with [name]Penn[/name] and not torture it into a longer form – I think [name]Penn[/name] is much stronger and more appealing than [name]Penrose[/name] or Penry or any other possibility.
I think [name]Penn[/name] goes really well with your other boys’ names, but all I can think of is [name]Penn[/name] [name]Jillette[/name] (whom I can’t stand) and the penitentiary.
Also heard it from [name]Penn[/name] Badgley so I dont really like the name
I think it’s too strong and harsh but it could sound cool on a blonde small boy
I think of [name]William[/name] [name]Penn[/name] (father of the Quaker movement in the US and architect of American religious tolerance) and [name]Penn[/name] [name]Jillette[/name] (blowhardy jerk who’s also a decent magician) . I think it would be fine to use as a first name.
I think of [name]Penn[/name] Badgley as well…sounds upperclass, country club to me (maybe because [name]Penn[/name] Badgley was on Gossip Girl, lol). I personally love the name!
