Something old, something new

Hello berries!
It’s been a long time since I posted here, I’ve been so busy lately. There hasn’t been much changes to my list but I added some names to my “maybe” list, and I would like some outside opinion.

  1. Firstly, I’ve grown to like the [name_f]Mar[/name_f]- names that have never appealed to me much, especially [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Marianne[/name_f]/[name_u]Marian[/name_u] and [name_u]Marion[/name_u]. I wonder whether [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] or [name_u]Marian[/name_u] is the best option. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you pronounce them differently? What do you think of these names? Are they too old-fashioned, what do they make you think of?
[name_f]Marianne[/name_f], [name_u]Marian[/name_u] or maybe [name_u]Marion[/name_u]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have some middle name ideas?
  2. And also there is [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], which is more on the modern side. I like the lively sound and the fact that it reminds me of [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m]. What do you think? I somehow have [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] stuck in my head, but I would like more ideas.
For middle names, I love both one and two middle name combos. You can see what kind of names I like in my signature. I am open to pretty much anything!
Thank you for you help, and [name_f]Happy[/name_f] [name_m]New[/name_m] Year!

[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] = “[name_f]Mary[/name_f]-ann”. My least favorite of them. I say [name_u]Marion[/name_u] and [name_u]Marian[/name_u] the same - “mary-en”. [name_u]Marion[/name_u] is the masculine spelling. But I prefer [name_f]Marin[/name_f] to then all - “mare-n”

[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is a nice name, but too popular for me.

I agree. My favorite of the “[name_f]Mar[/name_f]-” names would probably be [name_f]Maren[/name_f]. I also really like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], although it reminds me of [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] which I’m not at all crazy about. But Haddie would make a cute nn.

I agree 100% with what @bskleton said. I say them all the same way and prefer [name_f]Marin[/name_f] to them all.
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is cute and I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] for the middle name but Hadleey is overused imo. Adorable name none the less though so if popularity doesn’t concern you I like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Romona[/name_f] is adorable.

I like [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. It’s a cute name.

Thank you all, but I think I need to clarify: I am not looking for other first names, even though I like [name_f]Marine[/name_f]. I would like some opinions on [name_f]Marianne[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] and [name_u]Marian[/name_u] and middle name ideas.
And popularity is not an issue with [name_u]Hadley[/name_u].

I like [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] the best.

I say [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] “marry-[name_f]ANN[/name_f]” and [name_u]Marian[/name_u]/[name_u]Marion[/name_u] “[name_f]MARRY[/name_f]-un”. I like [name_u]Marion[/name_u] best, then [name_u]Marian[/name_u], then [name_f]Marianne[/name_f].

[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is nms - a bit too modern/trendy for me. But the flow of [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is nice.

Marianne is usually pronounced like the name Mary-Ann, Marian like Mary-un rhymes with Lillian. How the Mar first part is pronounced is accent dependent but is generally the same as the name Mary. Marianne is very pretty and reminds me of Sense and Sensibility but also feels a bit dated, it peaked in the '50’s. Marian is my favorite, it feels to me like a less popular Audrey or Evelyn. Marion seems more slanted towards the boys although it’s historically unisex.

Hadley is NMS, I know about Hemingway but the name sounds to me like the currently popular Harley/Hayden/Hadley/Hayley trend.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though I’m not a fan of [name_f]Marianne[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u], or [name_u]Marian[/name_u] (too old for me) I like [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] the best, since it looks more completed.

I love the first name [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], but I can’t shake the connection the name [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] has with the children’s book. [name_m]How[/name_m] about…

[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] (pronounced like [name_f]Margo[/name_f])

Thank you all so much!
@anaxandra thanks for such a thoughtful comment! I see what you mean about the trend, but due to the [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m] association [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] seems a little less trendy than Hardley and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] to me.
@anatoliabrooke: [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is very nice, and [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] is absolutely stunning! You just guessed my favorite spelling of [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] as well.

I love the name [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]!!

I agree…[name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] or [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_u]Marian[/name_u] are lovely
