I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] - I adore the name [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and think this combo is so lovely and flows well!

[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]
[name_f]Heather[/name_f]
[name_f]Orchid[/name_f] (I read somewhere that orchids can be purple in nature?)
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]

I really like what you have so far! I frankly think any of these possible ones go well with [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]! My favorites from your list are [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f]

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is my favourite, or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]. i also like @namergirl’s suggestion of [name_f]Heather[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f].

My favorites from yours are Sophie Plum and Sophie Lavender

Some other ideas that are kind of out there, but might work:
Wisteria
Thistle
Heliotrope (probably too out there for me, personally)
Pansy (not really great with Sophie tho)

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] as a middle, [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is beautiful. I second [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f], that’s a lovely combo.

I think the majority of the other purple names have been suggested, I don’t think there are many. Other ones, possibly more bizarre, are [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f], [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] was also a “seller of purple” but I don’t find that connection as obvious.

Thank you much.

Thank you.

I love the suggestion of [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]. I actually have that listed on my middle name list. Orchids are lovely. I have seen purple and white orchids. I am going to add both [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and [name_f]Orchid[/name_f]. [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] might be a bit out there though. Thoughts? I think [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is a really nice combo. I just always think of the part of the eye. I need to get over that, irises are also lovely. I have known some not pleasant Heathers, so that one is out.

Thank you.

Never heard of Heliotrope, I think that one is too out there. Thistle is actually kind of sweet. Although [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Thistle is a bit lispy when I say it. [name_f]Pansy[/name_f] can be an insult here, going to avoid that one. [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] is a fun one but I think a bit much. I am also currently watching Desperate Housewives.

Thank you.

I debated [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]. It was a favorite of my grandma and mom. Not sure about [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]. I have [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] on my middle name list but have not fallen for it enough to use it.

I adore both [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is just perfect!

Thank you.

I’m going to add a poll to this post.

[name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] means ‘purple flower’

I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]

Lots of lovely options. I voted for [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f], which is the one I would be most likely to use. But I also really like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]–[name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is probably not a name I’d use as a first, but I think it’s a really lovely middle–and I think this combo has a stronger “purple” feeling than [name_f]Iris[/name_f] for me (while the flower iris is purple, it also makes me think of rainbows–another reason why I like the name so much!). I also like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], and again this gives a strong purple feel, too.

The only two that don’t appeal to me are [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Orchid[/name_f]. The sound of the word [name_f]Plum[/name_f] doesn’t really grab me, and somehow it sounds a little childish to me. [name_f]Orchid[/name_f], on the other hand, is a name I’d considered as a middle name, until I read that the root of the word is the Greek word for testicle. This is not common knowledge, and most people will undoubtedly ONLY think of the flower, but after I found that out I just couldn’t picture using it anymore. I did consider [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] (another orchid name) as an alternative, but I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and I’m not sure it really has the purple connection you’re seeking either.

All in all, my favorite middle name choices are [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] (and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] makes a lovely first name for all three!).

It’s not on your list, but I like sophie violet

I like all of them except [name_f]Plum[/name_f].

Thank you all so much.

Leaning heavily toward [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]. I have loved [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] for a long time and it “feels” like the right purple. If that makes sense. Although [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is a close second, it also “feels” like the right purple.

I loooove [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is just really great with L names for some reason!

Thank you. I seem to be attracted to names with Ls, so I know what you are saying. I also adore [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
