My DH recently revealed that he likes the name [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. I didn’t like it at first, but it is starting to grow on me, it also pairs well with our last name. I’d love to find a nature inspired middle name, and at the moment I am liking [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f], but I am also concerned that the combo is super trendy and will sound cheesy when she is an adult.

Any suggestions for nature inspired middle names? I don’t like fussy names like [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] or [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]. Thanks!

I adore [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is beautiful and sweet.

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] ~ I have [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] on my short list.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] ~ [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is my top choice.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] ~ I have [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] on my short list.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]

While [name_f]Briar[/name_f] only caught on recently, it has some older roots due to [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (an alternative name for Sleeping Beauty). So it isn’t purely “trendy”. Besides, most people will not know a child’s middle name, so if you love it, go for it!

These are other options I thought of, I tried to avoid repeats with what has been posted before:

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Brook[/name_u]/[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] - or really any mineral, I also like [name_f]Beryl[/name_f] for its similarity to [name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Swan[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Dune[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

I agree w/pps; I don’t see any issue w/[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f].

Please consider repeats as seconding previous suggestions…

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] (I love this one!)
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Bay[/name_u] (if it sounds too “place-namey,” maybe [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Bayleigh[/name_f]…?)
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Isla[/name_f]

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is one of my favorite names. I like it much more than I like the super trendy and overused [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. The only nature-y middle names for [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] that I can think of (that haven’t already been mentioned) are [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Raven[/name_u], which both sound really dumb ([name_u]Skye[/name_u] a little less so), but they are parts of nature so I guess they’re not too out there. Many of the other posters’ suggestions are good too, like [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] and [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is also really pretty, if you end up using that one. Good luck on your naming!

Sophie Briar is lovely. I also really like the suggestion of Sophie Fleur. Other ideas:

Sophie Hazel
Sophie Marguerite (connection to “daisy”)
Sophie Florence
Sophie Pearl
Sophie Blair
Sophie Blythe
Sophie Neve

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is such a lovely name, look no further!
