We’ve narrowed our favorite boy names down to [name_m]Soren[/name_m] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]. Some other names in the running are [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Jason[/name_m], and [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], but I think [name_m]Soren[/name_m] ([name_u]Ren[/name_u] for nn) and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] top the list at this point. We like that [name_m]Soren[/name_m] is soft and masculine. We also like how it sounds and that it’s unique in the U.S. It’s meaning (from the Latin severus meaning stern, severe, strict, serious) is not our favorite. We like [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]'s meaning (exalted, high mountain) but feel [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] is almost too safe and not as interesting as [name_m]Soren[/name_m].
My wife is Slovak with some Swedish in her family, and my family is mostly [name_m]German[/name_m] with some Irish. Family names we like include [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] ([name_m]Jozef[/name_m] on Dad’s side), and [name_m]Paul[/name_m] (Pavol on mom’s side). We are considering family names for middle names but have also thought of using one as the first name so we can use both ([name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]). Also, my last name is very [name_m]German[/name_m] sounding with 3 syllables.
Here are some name combos we like:

[name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m]

[name_m]Aaron[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] (AJ) (second favorite)

I love [name_m]Soren[/name_m], nn [name_u]Ren[/name_u], and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], nn [name_m]Zan[/name_m] or [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. I agree that [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] seems too safe and I think it seems a bit 90’s. [name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] would be my choice.
[name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is definitely my favorite. I am not a fan of [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] since it seems dated to me and not as interesting as you said. I have never met a [name_m]Soren[/name_m] before.
I think [name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] sounds perfect! For the reasons you mentioned, particularly the fact [name_m]Soren[/name_m] is unusual, but still usable and easy to pronounce/spell. And [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] gives the family name, and goes really well with [name_m]Soren[/name_m]. A very handsome name too!
Definitely agree that [name_m]Soren[/name_m] is much more interesting and unique. I think [name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is a lovely combo.
I love [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] myself, but [name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] sounds like the best choice for you.
[name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is a great name. Also enjoy [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], but [name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is definitely my favorite. I wouldn’t worry too much about the meaning. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if you don’t like it, the meaning of the name won’t define him.
[name_m]Soren[/name_m] is definitely my favourite from your list. Not too complicated, but unique and charming. [name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] so very handsome!
